Hey IA you're right, Cloud has been pretty subdued lately. Maybe the two little ones have worn him out  ;D. That Sahlens is pretty good stuff - ham off the bone or hot ham is what I usually buy.

Ok, so all the models I'm looking at are predicting under an inch of snow each day for the next 3 days for the lake area. The lake effect snow warning is posted for Oswego county, with storm totals being 10 to 19 inches by the time Tuesday evening rolls around. I checked the forecast for smack dab in the middle of Oswego county in parish and as far north as snags backyard in Altmar and the most accumulations forecast were in the 3 to 5 range by the time all is said and done.  This don't make much sense to me...

The difference between rt 49 and rt 69 snowfall is usually much greater to the north . If the wind stays right it will keep north and minimal till wed. Meteorology is an educated guess at best . Much like the " practice" of medicine .

Hope your right, I was thinking and hoping the same thing. The last couple lake effect events just missed the lake literally by a few miles. Let's just pray Shane gets buried!!! That way we will be good!

Let's just pray whatever happens it will not happen till that slush layer freezes up, if this snow does fall and that crap ain't healed up yet, well let's just say walkers and quad runners might as well kiss the rest of the Oneida lake late season good bye.... Say your prayers boys!

Goto NOAA.gov they've got north shore getting 5-9" south shore 1-3".  Seems to have Parish/hastings as the bullseye.
If you play with their interactive model on the bottom right of the page and look at from 1am through tmro morning they have the band settle south a bit from the 104 corridor.
Click on the times under weather not totals and you'll see the dark blue band settle south.

Moving around today stinks, but its not that deep. 4-8" half of its hardened up.  Not enough to hold your weight today though.  Supposed to be windy.  That'll pack any snow that does fall.  Still should be ok.

I'm just guessing as I haven't looked at any weather yet, but this cold air coming down is associated with low pressure not high pressure, normally winds are west when this happens, so this marginal lake effect as the lake is 33-34 degrees right now should be up here, one would think, occational swings down there, I'm not worried , that slush will be rock hard after tonight.  remember its trying too freeze from bottom up as well as top down...  if I didn't have too work today, I'd be down there, 30's partial cloud cover and perfect barometer, what a day today.

All you fish heads will appreciate this - The kids can already say walleye, trout, perch, bluegill... its 20 month old jibberish but hey...
Matthews absolute favorite is to sit on my lap at the computer and watch fishing vids and look through fishing pictures of dad and I...
He has two favorites - One a pict montage I made from the salmon river and this one I made a few winters ago...

The top layer froze up a little last night but I still broke through some. There is only a couple inches of slush under that. It should be rock solid after tonight!

Nice and easy has great spikes.  Twice as big as gander.  There is a bait shop on rt 5  on the way to auburn. I have never been there but passed it last week and it said open.

a little less slush today. everyone that is fishing just outside of muskrat bay is staying on top.
the lake effect snow line is going to be real close to the lake. hope it hardens up before the snow.
have to work today, or I'd be out there. the barometer looks good today.   Sully...
