Hopefully this rain and thaw wakes them up a little and gets them going. A little O2 goes along way sometimes! ;D In the meantime I'll be up north looking for some fatties! @)

just got home from work. man is it pouring out !!!  the wind is ripping out of the south. if it keeps going there won't be much of any snow left on the ice. maybe a couple inches of slush, and water. should be good traveling by monday.   Sully...
hope we get out again ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Dave, yes they are. I bought them for dad last year after his knee surgery off the recommendation of Freddy. They rock! have used a lot of creeper/cleats over the years and nothing comes close.
Glad your doing well. Talked to Phil and Dale the other day, they are busy in Florida. Phil has been catching redfish off his kayak...

I bought my Kahtoolas probably 5 years or so ago, absolutely the best I've ever owned, worth every cent!!  I turned Freddy and a few others on to them and they all love em too!

Pooch, Here is the setup. I weighed it and it's just under 11lbs! Drill handle has a screw type of a jaw that clamps onto top of housing and is on and off easily. The adapter is by Ice Master and from what I have read 6'' auger is the right size and 8" is to much for the drill to be efficient.

No! No creeper talk on an ice fishing thread, but did you see the sneakers CJ Fair was wearing the other night?

http://kahtoola.com/products/microspikes/

ORDERED! My stablizers suck, had to walk funny to creep along to not to fall. My legs ached for two days walking like that.  I also hyperextended my knee and put me out of duty for 3-4 days. I'm done with that hopefully!

Filetandrelease, Thanks!

slymer83, I looked a month ago at local stores, REM in Fayetteville had them but no LX. Checked Amazon yesterday no XL, Ebay, one XL pair, didn't looked like Kahtoola microspikes? Thanks anyway!

Hey pooch, here's another pic of the setup I run. The Milwaukee is a beast!! I usually don't run the handle on mine, but it helps a little with the twist.

Seems we are in a shortage of everything!  I bought an Otter 1200 Lodge a month ago and can't find a cover for it nowhere!  I have been back and forth with Otter about this and in reality, they suck!  Gave me the lame excuse about being late in the season...blah, blah, blah...they have shipped all stock out to dealers...blah, blah, blah...well, none of the dealers have them either!  By mid-January, there are none to be found...it's obvious they don't know what they are doing.. They(Otter) should have covers in stock ALL the time!  I told them to knock the back wall out of their garage and make a little more warehouse space!  $1100 into a shanty that I can't use without a cover!  They are bleepin idiots!!!  Ahem (deep breath), so if anyone does know of a cover, I'd be much obliged to know about it.
Here's one.....

Ultimately, I'd imagine all this melt off and rain is gonna bring that lake level up making for some shifting and new cracks or plenty of action around the ones that are already there.  The shore will most likely be flooded in most areas with the water sitting on top of the ice. In a couple of days it will all be locked up and hard again, making for some superb traveling conditions. It's gonna be as cold as HELL again! Dang that polar vortex!! Ease up a bit will ya?!?!?

Herb Phillipson's did have generic sled covers(black), I bought one for my small Otter sled. Just thought I'd put that out there...

In regards to sizing for the kahtoola microspikes, any words of wisdom from the guys that have them,
I wear size 11, Muck arctic extremes. I see size LG ends at size 11, and XL begins at size 11.
Decisions, decisions.....

I'm not sure how big those boots are but I would go with the xl's, they should fit fine. And if not for some reason I'm sure exchanging them would not be a problem. I'd ask the place you buy them from, or better yet call Kahtoola and ask them directly, that's what I did.

I wear size 11's too, but my boots are pretty big. The cabelas saskatchewans to be exact.

Pooch, I recently bought a Milwaukee 18Volt Fuel brushless drill and got an adapter at Basspro in Utica. I use my 6'' Lazer hand auger and it is a Beast! Took it to Lebanon Res. last weekend and drilled 40 holes thru about a foot of Ice and still had Battery left. Paid $200 for the drill online and the adapter was $27.

You do not need a hammer drill ... The 2603 will do the job .
