Dead bait on the bottom will get you more burbot Run your line through an egg sinker, tie on a split ring and a good ball bearing swivel . Run a 2 foot leader with a treble hook and a dead shiner, perch belly meat, or a bunch of smaller dead minnows. Set your drag very light or leave the bail open in a rod holder. It won't take long for a burbot to find your bait ! They're beginning to move to the shoals to spawn.
was wondering why no one trys to start a tournament for blue gills and pickeral on big bay? sounds like it would make a nice lil tournament 20 gills per team heavyest weight and pool for largest pickeral by weight. just a thought i guess.

I sent out a couple of PM,s , but here is something that will get you scratching your head there was a bust on the lake and it wasn't for fish some guys were cooking Meth omg strike a match and we can have a community hole to fish , this came from a very reliable source ,but what gets my old hair up is the crap they are dumping in our water ,
I've got -15 on the south shore! Thought my thermometer was acting up. Morning news said not nearly that cold. Until news 9 aired what their weather watchers were reporting. Then they had Verona at -17 & north shore as cold as -22.Seems like the coldest air is trapped right over Oneida!
