Looks like some of you hit the honey hole and others, including me, got zip. I have been fighting an Atv lately and if I had a gun with me ,I would have shot the dam thing Friday. Thank God we have snow on the ice and my sled actually works.

Every fish I keep I cut the throat let them bleed out in a bucket with water.  No blood really in the fish when you clean them and there's no tension in the fish.  There just a slab to clean.

Yesterday was the worst day I ever hand on Onieda got skunked out of Lewis. Had bare ice to get out 2 miles, then ten inches of snow. Took me two hours to walk in even with creepers no traction. I fell 14 times had to walk down the center of the pressure ridge to keep my footing. Marked a lot of fish could'nt entice them to bite big small raps sweeds nothing  :(

hey diehards got a quick question from a guy trying to learn the lake.  before i learn oneida i need to learn how to fish walleye.  i use a jigging rap mainly and do long strides till i mark a fish then i do verry little jigs with my rod.  had tons of lookers but not many takers today and did dump a nice one at the hole.  any tips or maybe a video on how to jig that someone might know about would be a great help, thank you.

Went out on the north shore over by Jewel this morning.  Caught 20 eyes lost a few pulling them up through the hole.  kept my 3 keepers and was done fishing in 2 hours.  Was the best day I had this year.  Hoping to hit the ice tomorrow morning before heading out Rabbit hunting around noon :)!  Hope every one else had a great day on the lake/

Man pretty neat. Them are some nice ones you got! I still haven't ever caught one! You would think I would have by now on accident. Maybe tomorrow. I want to try them

Out of Williams from @9-2:30 bought a friend who is interested in getting into more ice fishing, We ended up with 12 perch, nothing big, 1 pickerel and a bubot that went back down. Huge day with the walleyes hooked at least 25!! To bad they where only 6 to 10 inches long, Maybe next time we'll have a keeper or 2...What was going on behind Dunhams today? anyone? I never have seen that many shantys behind there. All in all a nice day.

Seems like jewel east was the ticket ... I was the next group west of jewel and it was famine ..... BIG TIME ....

I squeaked a limit and 12 shorts yesterday .... But they gave me the stink eye today .... When I got the text at 8 and my buddy said UT OH .... he was on Taft . You could just feel the goose egg coming. I did land a nice 7 "    :woot:

I took my friend there for his once a year trip.  We got 14 perch and one eye.  A lot of dinks. It didn't seem like anyone was getting much but guys kept showing up.

Haven't posted in awhile but here goes. Fished north shore, ice was good 9 inches. Only had to drill one set of holes today. Got my eyes quick this morning and downed sized my lure to work on some perch.  Left the ice at 11:00 with my limit of eyes and a dozen jumbo perch. I was fishing in 25fow. Green seemed to be the hot color early on and switching to blue when the sun came out seemed to be the key today. Snow was not really that bad imo and I walked today.

rocky I have been doing this for a few years and what you did was my perfect day a nice limit of eater eyes and a dozen jumbo perch congrats my man

if you really want to bleed them cut the tail off thats the spine , it will drain better if hung and and slit the heart, but 16-17.5 inch eyes don't need bleeding  it is as good as it gets , do you bleed your jumbo perch to

imho I would say Chapman would be a better choice if you are walking.....don't have to walk all that far to get to fishable water....good luck
