Not a bad day yesterday. 25 perch, 21in eye, pickerel, 25in northern. Lost 2 wallys at the hole. Had to weed out the dinks. When out at Williams. Used a Lindys glo grub with head of minnow or just the body. Watch the crack out about 200 yards out. Opened up when I left NW of the beach.
Bait it. Jig it. Hook it.

Nice fish everyone. Getting my son back on top of the water next week. Will stick to small pond for now. He had a spinal tap and it really screwed up his balance. He is home with us now. Taking him home tomorrow. I really missed some good fishing this week ,but family comes first. I will be on the ice tomorrow ;)

Can someone give me an idea of how much snow is on top of the ice? I want to take my 5 year old out today, but have no creepers for him. I'm hoping there is still snow for awhile today. Not sure i want him on slick ice. Any help would be appreciated

Went out of apps yesterday had to make a move or 2 caught 35 keeper perch got my first walleye ever but  he was 12 inches picked up,6 eyes all short. All and all great day. Ride up in the morning was frustrating untill I got to 81 slow drivers  made me almost an hour later than I had planned. Taft was packed  so  went back to apps.9 inches measured of the nicest black ice. Thanks to all on this thread gleaned alot of great info. Maybe I can get back up next week.

Great 2 day's on the ice. Thursday was a slow pick but we got it done, Friday was on fire. Drilled my holes and dropped the ducer, bottom 5 feet was covered with fish! Great to see everyone out there, nice meeting you Polar Bear, sweet fish.

I'm probably a little younger than you.I haven't been in there close to 10 years now probably. I moved out of Elmira and moved to syracuse about 8 years back. I wanted to be closer to the steelhead fishing up here. Now i rarely steelhead fish and am more interested in learning ice fishing.

Went out after work and fished from 4:00-5:00. Caught 3 keepers and 2 shorts. Hopefully be out there tomorrow. Nice reports guys! This is the best ice conditions we have had this early in the season in awhile. The last rain we had made a lot of the cracks I was crossing better to.

every place I tried yesterday measured 10-11"inches of ice, watch out for cracks , there was only about an inch of snow I'm sure by now it's slick creepers are in order , smooth as glass ,

just got back from Chapman......extremely inactive fish today....didn't see many and the ones I did had to tease the crap out of em to get em to hit....got 8 for dinner tonight.....worst day this year......honey hole has dried up I guess, time for a move......ice conditions are deteriorating rapidly......holes went from 6" to 10" in a couple hours.....alot of water on top and funneling down the holes......the crack in front of the pier is getting worse also......weather forecast doesn't look promising either....ice was 9" where I was.....with the temps that are forecast for the next 4 or 5 days lets hope she holds her own....the shorelines will go fast I'm afraid.....hoping I'm wrong...use caution around the cracks folks...watched a wheeler dump his back tires in the crack by the pier.....water is only knee deep there but would be a pain in the arse none the less

Well wasn't gonna fish today, but it looked like last night on the weather radars, that a dry punch of air would move in for the morning, glad I went, beautiful morning, very little wind and really warm...drove out and drilled one hole and pounded on eyes and jumbos for 2 1/2 hours, I ended up putting 16 keeper size eyes and 16 jumbos on the ice, dumped a pile more, couldn't run 2 rods, all hit jigging raps... what a morning, sky got dark and we packed up and just beat the heavy rain.Wish I could of fished that hole yesterday with the good barometer...

Glad I made it out this AM...Made quick work on a limit of eyes, not as many fish as last weekend but the fish I marked were very aggressive, I landed 5 nice eyes in a short time and I also had a case of the barely hooked, lost 8 more at or near the hole...it was great headed out this AM but it was wet coming back in, my shanty was on plane on the way back with the water on top of the ice.  Looked like we were driving on water and the lake was like glass  ;D...Nice fishing with you for a bit this morning Reeleyz and nice seeing you again HT hope you got into them!

It feels good, I was stumped pretty good for a while, I learned a lot last weekend...definitely different than any other ice fishing I have done...great job to you for making quick work this AM!
