CEJ, thanks for all those numbers, put some of them into my phone for reference. I sure hope ECO Head does't use the nickname Dick.
Horrible bite today. Don't even want to talk about numbers. Maybe my worst day in 2 years. The little bit of snow made It so I could use the sled. Even got the solid shanty out. (Image removed from quote.)
Hey guys, I see snow in s10s pic, I'm from buffalo heading up tomorrow... Curious to know if the snow stuck and I can bring my sled?
There enough snow to keep cool. Studs are a bonus. Saturday might be all water so that will be OK also.
Guess i am heading up in the morning on my own, from reading all 110 pages of the thread i see where chapman was a good walking point now i read theres a pressure ridge .So i am heading to apps to get bait in the morning and theres a pressure ridge there also any suggestions on a safe acess point a guy can walk from and still get to the deeper water to catch perch and eyes ?
Is the pressure crack at apps pasable on foot boggey. Headed out at day break.
For the guys asking about walking out of Apps. I did it yesterday. Pressure crack is at around 25' and moves closer to shore as you go East toward Godfrey. I spudded across it in 4 spots. All were solid with the ice shoved up and refrozen.I'd still be careful, as always, but it was definitely passable.
can you park at taft bay park with a trailer? is there any major pressure cracks in this area? thank you
Hit the ice Today, and as expected with a big barometer it was a slow pick all day, with a pretty good dead spell around noonish, ended up icing 15 eyes, 12 that were keeper size and 9 nice perch for the frying pan, all fish were caught jigging raps in 25-27 fow, ice measured anywhere from 10 to 11.5 inches, with a light coating of snow, easy dragging ....I did a lot of walkin... haven't read any reports yet on here ....fighting my furnace... wow what a blizzard all the way down this morning ....6 inches on the roads... unplowed,..... couple pics with my junk camera...
