I always tie direct, no more metal than is needed......, I do how ever put a break in the line a foot or so up with a barrel swivel too keep line swist down.

I use a quality swivel up about 2 ft. Mono (floro) leader and a quick snap to the lure, sometimes; sometimes tie directly to the line.

Hey guys,  question. Do you guys use a snap swivel to attach your jig or tie the line right to the jig itself while fishing for walleyes?? I want to use the line to the jig but worry about those teeth cutting the line as there shaking there heads on the way up. How you tie them?? Thanks

I use snaps all the time but buy the good ones mustad hook connectors,  I use them year round trout fishing, jigging from the boat and ice fishing , with a tiny barrel swivel ,to help with line twist ,  as far as losing fish it just happens sometimes just the price of doing business ,think I lost 3 jigs last winter,

Snag, would this work with the tiny jigs I use for perch? I know the jig is down there doing circles.

There is still a black market for selling walleye fillets to certain restaurants. They are ALL supposed to be from Canada, but I know that is not always true, but they are probably
just game hogs. I know of guys that bragged about shooting 20+ turkeys in the winter, just because they could. No way anyone could eat that much turkey.

I do not do this, but i work with a lot of vietnamese people.. They try to buy fish off me all the time, I could ten bucks a fish for trout and walleye if I wanted, and wouldn't even have to clean them. They will buy them hole... I have never sold any, because i cannot bring myself to kill enough fish to make it worth it.

Maybe you don't, but I and my friends do, actually prefer them in a lot of cases. Have you ever tried Cod? They are delicious and meaty, easy to clean as well.
