I need to take a lesson out of Scouts book..... (wheeler and stripers)....
Fished Lewis, by way of feet

......2 keeper eyes, 2 shorts, 6 silvers, a mammoth burbot and 0 perch........ 26 fow.
What a drag.........literally!

Well final back to room after a great day on Oneida. Slow morning but at high noon all hell broke loose. My buddy limited on eyes (16,18.5 & a 21) in a matter of a half hour and while he was 20 ft away I was putting on a clinic for the stripers. I had 4 in bucket at noon then between noon and 3 I managed to get almost my limit(47) of 12" plus then caught a 19" walleye in the middle of the mix. Best day on Oneida for me in the last 25 years. Hopefully tomorrow brings the same.

Fished Williams this afternoon... got nothing. Time to find a new fishing spot.

What are you guys using for bait? The lures don't seem to be doing much.

Fished just behind the island out of Williams today. 6" of good ice. 1 perch, 1 pickerel, and a burbot that has a new Kast master copper/ brass. If someone hooks it pm me I would like it back..

Try another spot tomorrow.

Are salted minnow heads worth using if you cannot use a fresh minnow head?

I do not have minnow bucket at the moment, and today had to make the choice of new car batter and new blades for the auger or a battery and a bucket. I got new blades.

Stupid question, but i am still new... New would be a lie... I havent ice fished in 20 years almost... I just changed the blades on my strikemaster for the first time since them. Spent a lot of time spinning in circles trying to drill a hole.. I hope they work..

Great fish everybody. I fished a little west of Lewis Pt. Had fish on the screen all day, but it was a tough bite for me. Scratched out 10 nice perch, 10 short 'eyes and only 1 keeper 'eye. I did lose 2 keeper 'eyes at the hole too. My buddy did about the same. We fished the same place as New Year's Day and was a little disappointed to see that the ice was only about 3/4" thicker. Damn snow!

they open at 6. head for a shanty town to get you in the right area then move off if needed. talk with the people at apps and they will point you in the right directin to start. good luck!

just an ice update ive been out to 123 min amount of ice was 7in of black ice and cut one hole that nearly was foot of white and black
