Does anyone have an ice report?  I figure the snow on top of the ice that I can see on the webview link is bad news, but I was looking to confirm.

We probably need to start over, right?

Are people just that hard up to scratch the itch or just trying to join the polar bear club? I keep gettin calls from my buddies who dont fish as much askin me how ive been doing on oneida, been replying its unsafe. They in turn are telling guys are on big bay, sylvan, and edgewater. I mean im dyin to get out but dont want to die literally. Brass balls i guess.vi plan on maybe giving big bay a spud check sunday.

I feel the same shimanoman.... I love fishing but I'm not trying to get hurt or die falling through the ice. I tent to wait u til the ice is deemed pretty safe until I go give it a shot

my chip shows the spot dead on  ;)

and snag my other chip is dead on to the app

Does your chip show anything for Black Lake?  I have the Navionics premium chip (2 actually) and they are basically worthless as far as Black Lake goes.  It pretty much shows little more than water and land.  It is pretty accurate on the other major lakes around here, including Oneida and Ontario, but pretty much a bust for Black Lake.

I have the app on my phone and it shows contour lines and depth for deep side of black lake but zip for the shallow end. All the other lakes are very detailed. Its strange.

That's cause you got it "marked"  :woot: :icefish:
The best chip I've ever seen for Black Lake is the Fishing Hotspots Map for Lowrance.  Got it in my BAJA 580 mounted on my wheeler.  It's got Oneida on it too but I don't have any experience with it there (not much anyways).

Just spent 15 minutes roaming Oneida with that app, I got an older 2008 chip, it was a big help for me from 2008-2011 seasons, really helped speed up the learning process on Oneida, especially once I started bumming rides and getting dropped off out away from the walking spots, its fun just walking around and trying spots on the map......the newer chips are really detailed, this one is more detailed than mine, but I've seen one a bit better.... guess its time for me too upgrade.

Oldschool makes me laugh. Like when someone tells me I shouldn't use a release when bow hunting. I should shoot traditional use my fingers hahaha. My comment back is you're using a compound bow how Oldschool is that. Invariably there will be another guy who says not me I use a recurve and shoot fingers so I'm reeeealy old school. So then I have to ask...did you make it yourself?  Did you make your own arrows or did you buy them and glue fetching on. My point is this. If you enjoy old school or whatever you think old school is that's fine but don't tell people they shouldn't use technology. Just catch fish and do it however you enjoy doing it. Me I will take my frabill my heater my Marcum and probably still not catch enough fish but I'm having a ball so relax man its just about fun and fish. Sorry if anyone is offended just my two cents

1 degree at my place this am, a little warm up to melt some snow later this week then more cold weather. Looking good.

I have done a lot of fishing by marking major structure, humps etc... in my low end GPS and done well but I got on some stuff last year that I never would have found without a map chip, now I have to have one.  I am cheap but I am not missing out on good fishing.
