Good Morning Everyone,
Light rain has just about stopped and 42* at the moment, high of 74 today.

Wally…I didn’t get out on the streams yesterday, but got a good number of my to do list completed…even put the snowblower away a few days early!  ;D  Maybe this afternoon if the rain holds off.
Jeff…sounds like you fellas had a good day working together yesterday. Hopefully the rain holds off for most of the day if you have some outside work you want to catch up on.
H2…glad the dinner was good at the banquet, sorry you didn’t score on any of the cash prizes though…next year!   There will be a lot of happy boaters and fishermen now on the reservoir.
FH4…will be looking forward to hearing how the new toy works for you all.   Good luck with the walleyes if you’re heading out today!
Steve…excellent news on your Great Aunt, best wishes continued for her moving forward!     Thanks for the update on the EZ Pass scam, wish they could catch these criminals.
Bud…hope all is going well down at the farm!
Dave….only about another month to go until vacation starts!!  :flex:

Went to Home Depot yesterday to get a new mulching blade for my walk behind and check out a few other things. Of course they didn’t have the blade I intended to buy in stock that was advertised, but they did have the most expensive one, lol. Checked out grass seed and fertilizer while I was near that department….holy smokes! Found what I thought was a bargain compared to everything else for some grass seed to fix a few bare spots. Turns out it was just for temporary
grass, lol. I’ll let the weeds do their thing, they grow good here!  Cawfee’s on…. ;D
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Hit the lake and caught one walleye on the first pass. Boy reeled that one in and then picked up my buddy and fished the area again and nothing, moved and no bites and then the wife hear thunder and wanted off the lake. Took her back amd we went out and tried to jig a bit and caught a carp. Wind moved in called the wife to back the trailer in and rain and hail and loaded up. Waited for the rain to lessen and then got gear loaded and headed home. Hit another good storm before getting home. Nice day and good to fill the tug.

Good evening, rain over night which cleared out in the morning hours leading to another nice day with a high near 75 degrees. A brief period of rain this evening. Looking at ten day forecast chance of rain for most of this coming week. My prayers for those in Oklahoma and other western states affected by the recent tornados. Receive a message from one of my great aunt's nieces all still good with the exception of her getting limited sleep due to back pain from a fall she apparently suffered sometime before her surgery. She has an appointment this week with her local cardiologist who will pass on his exam results to the NYC doctor. Hopefully she does not have a fracture in her back.
Hunts2long glad you enjoyed the bowling banquet. Sorry to hear about Rocky's run in with a skunk. I forget to mention yesterday gas prices here in New Windsor $3.50 to $3.60 per gallon of 87 octane. I drove passed the Sunoco station in Washingtonville on my way to lacrosse game they were charging $3.79 for 87 octane. Only about a 6 mile distance from New Windsor to Washingtonville. I think the Sunoco is only station in the heart of village.
Ice wanderer always people finding a way to cheat other out of their money and now make additional dollars off of them by selling their personal information over the internet. glad using the backpack blower caused no shoulder discomfort hopefully something can be done to increase range of motion and strength that does not require more surgery.
Wallyworld may it have been a pleasant day for the two of you.
Eddie good to read you are knocking items off of the to do list. It seems like you see an add and when you get to store the item is sold out or out of stock to often these days. May the mulching blade you purchased do the job for you.  If you do not mind them smart thinking on letting the weeds cover the now bare spots in your lawn.
Old Goat good to hear your Mom is doing well. glad the storms bypassed your area. Nice find on the fish trap cover.
Fish/hunt4ever nice you got a fishing trip in and had some action. glad you got off the lake before getting caught in the storm.

A good start to the week wished for everyone.

                 Good morning ER's,
It's 44* and some morning fog here on my hill. ::)
H2l............Give Rocky a bath in tomato juice, it will cut the smell but if he has any white on him it will be pink. :roflmao:
Eddie.........What a change in the weather yesterday, sky cleared up and no clouds until around 3 pm. :woot:
Wally.........What a beautiful day for a bike ride and ice cream yesterday.
Fish...........Way to go getting out and landing a couple.
OG.............I'm glad to read that your mom is doing well
Bud............Coffee is a good way to get the pick me up.
Steve..........I hope your great aunt doesn't have anything seriously wrong from the fall.
Yesterday turned out to be another guessers fake news stories. I got some more things done here.

58* cloudy, looks like some rain overnight..

Mr. C, the phone company I worked for after I retired had some equipment and customers down in that area so got to see most of those small towns like Washingtonville, Monroe, etc. Nice area.

Saw a couple boats out on the lake yesterday.

The steak was done just the way I like it.

Not much planned for today, have to take the Jeep in for an oil change Tuesday morning.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

Morning all,

IW.....glad you were able to check a few more things off the to do list

H2L....looks like some nice weather for the walleye opener this week  ;)2

MrC.....prayers your aunt didn't do any serious damage to her back

Eddie.....I have a LOT of pretty yellow "flowers" in my lawn I'd be glad to give you to cover the bare spots  :woot:

FH4.....always "fun" trying to beat a storm to shore

OG.....good to hear your Mom is doing well

IFF.....hope you and your daughter get some water therapy time while she's visiting  ;D

Since the weatherman said no rain until 3:00 yesterday afternoon and the sky was cloudless, we packed a little picnic lunch and hopped on the trike around 10:30. Within a 1/2 hour the clouds started rolling in  ::) Stopped by the lake around noon to eat and watched the sky get darker, checked the radar, rain starting around 2:30  :-\ Pulled in the driveway at 1:15 as the rain was starting to fall  :pinch: Looks to be about 1/2" in the rain gauge this morning  ::)

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Good Morning Everyone,
Cloudy and 60* on the Hill this am, high of 64.

OG…glad to read your Mom is doing well Sir!      I see you still have the knack of finding some awesome deals, keep up the good work!
FH4…glad you made it out and avoided the skunk! Glad you didn’t get caught way out on the lake when the weather turned bad.   What was the water temperature up to?
Steve…add my best wishes for your Great Aunt, hopefully it’s just a pulled muscle or something minor.   Gas prices have been pretty steady in the mid to upper $3.70’$ here..seems like forever.   :%$#!:    Once again, glad we’re not out in California!
https://www.ktvu.com/news/gas-hits-above-7-mark-at-one-bay-area-station-among-the-highest-in-california#:~:text=GasBuddy%20said%20its%20data%20showed,Essex%20in%20San%20Bernardino%20County.&text=AAA%20figures%20showed%20the%20current,Nationwide%2C%20it's%20%243.66.
Jeff…it was a beautiful day yesterday for working outside other than the black flies which were out again for awhile. Did you have a problem with them yesterday?   I fired up the grill in the afternoon and just before cooking the rain moved in, just my luck!   ;D
H2…only 2 days to go until the Walleye opener!!  Weather permitting, any plans of heading out?
Wally….if it wasn’t for all those pretty yellow flowers I would have lots of bare spots!!!  ;D   Sorry your ride yesterday got cut short with the weather, better days are coming.

My sons made a trip to a trout stream they’re very fond of yesterday and crushed them. A double digit day for both with lots of pictures and a few videos they shared with me. Bragging rights went to my youngest son Stephen again landing 6 more than his older brother. They sure love the comradery and competition….. :flex:
Not much on the planner yet….Cawfee’s still hot!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Water temp was 51 to 53 degrees, went down with the rain and cold weather on Saturday as my buddy was out Wednesday and he said it was around 55 to 57 and went down to 51 the higher in the lake he went.  Hopefully getting out sometime this week if the weather and work cooperates.  Busy day at work again, looks like by myself again for most this week. Looks like everyone is doing good, hopefully everyone gets out and enjoys some of the outdoors.  Have a great Monday.

Good evening , temperature increase on Sunday and today went from highs in the low to meddle sixties to middle seventies on Sunday and close to eighty today. In local news the city of Newburgh police chief is resigning his position after being hired as new head of school safety and security by the Newburgh school district at a special board of education vote this past Friday. The city police department will still have leadership until a new chief is found and hired. Back in August of 2021 around the time resigning chief was a hired a two tiered leadership system was established with a police commissioner be hired at the same time. The commissioner will now oversee department operations.
Ice Wanderer My sister and I are also hoping our great aunt did not seriously injure her back when she had the fall. glad the weather Sunday allowed you to complete some outside work on your property.
Hunts2long besides the tomato juice there is a solution made with hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap you bath your pet with to remove the skunk spray odor it may take a few baths to completely eliminate the odor. going by what I could find on the internet the worst thing you can do is to try and rinse it off of your pet as water reacts with something in the skunk spray and brings out the odor instead of helping to decrease it and remove from pet's fur. I do not know what year you retired but orange county has seen a population increase especially in the Monroe/Washingtonville area. the village of Washingtonville still has a small town feel as the growth has occurred mainly in surrounding Town of Blooming Grove.
Wallyworld glad you kept a check on the weather and were able to beat the rain home and not have to ride the trike on wet roads.
Eddie thank you for the link I believe California is among the top 5 states in cost of living. May this year's black fly season be a short one . Congratulations to Stephen and Mike on their good day of trout fishing.
Fish/hunt4ever may things go well for your coworker so he can return home from Ohio this week. may you not have to work any overtime and be able to fish with family and friends later in the week.

keep safe do your best to stay healthy. Good fishing wished for headed out this week.

Good morning ER’s. Raining started about 2:00 AM. And from the looks of the radar and what the guessers are saying I can expect several days of off and on rain.  So all the “Stormy Weather” isn’t going to be confined to just a court room 😱😱😂😂😂

I did move my big boat to the shelter of the barn. Its cover got somewhat depleted with the suns UV attacks and has become brittle, and tears easy. It also started to not shed water.

Daughter is off to the granddaughter’s sweet 16 birthday celebration, so now with all the rain may not get any time on the water in before returning to Wisconsin.

 Best to all
Bud

               Good morning Bud, ER's,
It's 42* and cloudy, but we had a thunderstorm around 2:30, it rained .35". ::)
Wally..........You can't trust those weather guessers. :%$#!: Did you at least get a chance for some ice cream? ???
H2l.............I'm glad that your steak was cooked to your liking. :flex: How do you like it? ???
Bud............It's a good thing that you have the barn.
Eddie..........I know we don't like the yellow flowers in the lawn but they are important for the bees. I'm glad the boys did well at their
               favorite stream. :flex:
Steve..........I'm sure the position of police chief will be filled quickly. Generally it done from within the ranks.
Yesterday was a three weather day, cloudy in the morning, the the sun came out, rained later in the day.
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday either at work or out, Stay Safe and Healthy.

49* and cloudy!

IW, I like my steak Med Rare to Med. Being a banquet these were all cooked MED, it was good.

Eddie, won't be fishing anytime in the near future, trip to the city on next Tuesday, then the wife is having surgery on the 14th, that is at St. Peters in Albany. I never get too excited about early season but I do think the walleyes are going to start hitting early this year due to the early Spring we have had. I checked the temp in East Stoney yesterday PM and it is already mid 50's.

OG, good to hear that your MON is doing better.

Mr. C, I don't think Rocky got sprayed very much by the skunk. I think the skunk may have been outside the fence around the yard.

WW, let me know when you are sending those "yellow" flowers to Eddie, I sure I can find some around here.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

Good Morning Everyone,
Cloudy and 48* with some fog, high of 64 today with rain moving in this afternoon. April is almost in the books……

Bud..Happy 16th Birthday to your granddaughter!!   Hope you see some better boating/fishing weather soon. Did you plant a vegetable garden this season?
Steve…you’ve been getting some pretty warm weather down in your area!
FH4…thanks for answering about the water temp, was curious about that…thought it would be cooler than that. Hope the rest of the week goes well for you and the fishing trip works out.
Jeff…yesterday’s weather was the same here also, had a little bit of everything, lol. Has your son heard anything yet on his estimate?
H2…I used that skunk recipe Steve mentioned on my dogs a few times, it worked fairly well. As you mentioned, when they got wet from the rain, the smell of skunk was noticeable again.  :o

Saw our first arrival of the hummingbirds yesterday, nice to see them back again. My wife put out her feeders yesterday after that and mine will go out today. Still haven’t planted anything in the garden yet, maybe another week or so if the temperatures cooperate. Garlic is doing really well.
Going to try my luck again at a local stream for an hour or so, see if I can catch lunch…Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Afternoon all,

Thoughts and prayers to the Marshalls/Police Officers, their families/friends/coworkers killed/wounded in NC yesterday  :'( :'(  There are no words to describe the profound sadness these senseless acts produce  :'( :'( :'(

IW.....no ice cream  :(

H2L....fingers crossed the eyes haven't strayed too far from their usual spring spots just yet

Eddie....put my feeders out a week or so ago but haven't seen any hummers yet  ::)  congrats to your sons  :flex:

Drifter.....tick tock  ;D

IFF.....sorry there might not be any fishing for you and your daughter this visit  :-\

MrC.....a lot of departments are having problems filling slots vacant due to retirement numbers, can't blame young people for not wanting to join up with all that's going on in the country

FH4.....surprised to see your lake temps that high  :o

In the process of packing some things, heading to Lake Ontario in the morning for a few days of early walleye fishing, hoping some of the big mama's are still hanging around and haven't ventured out deep yet  also hoping against hope the weatherman is right with the forecast  :P

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Good evening currently 58 and raining chance for showers more rain tomorrow. i received another update for my great Aunt's niece she is feeling better more up beat today now back home. Still needs to get her iron level in balance ,her daughter has found a person to run errands ,clean her mom's apartment and take her to appointments. My great aunt visits local cardiologist tomorrow hopefully his/her report is good news.

In local events Students at Vassar college in Poughkeepsie, NY have set up tents on campus and joined Israel-Hams protests going on at other colleges around NY. state and the nation. Vassar college president issued a statement saying as long as protest stays peaceful and does not disturb the learning environment college will not take action to remove tents. now word on if college administration will meet students demands to provide list of where college invests and to divest from all companies which are invested in ongoing genocide and occupation of Palestine. Students also want college administration to call for immediate end to Israel's siege on Gaza and to boycott certain study abroad programs.

Ice Wanderer article I read did not mention if any current members of Newburgh police force had expressed interest in being named new Chief and met qualifications for the job.
Hunts2long may you be correct and Rocky not have taken a direct hit of skunk spray. may you have a safe trip to NYC next Tuesday and all go well with your wife's surgery later this month.
IFF Happy Birthday greetings sent for your great great granddaughter's sweet 16 TH . may the extended forecast be incorrect and you and your daughter get a chance to fish during her visit.
Eddie good to know that the Hydrogen peroxide solution helps with the odor from a skunk spraying. may the humming birds make use of your feeders.  hopefully you can start planting your garden in coming weeks.
Drifter may things go weel for you until vacation time arrives like other looking forward to some cabin reports and photos this Summer.
Wallyworld my prayers added to yours for the marshals/police officer killed on Monday in North Carolina.  I agree with your statement about current events swaying younger people from pursuing a career in law enforcement.  I think the resigning Newburgh chief may receive a higher salary from the school district and his new job should be less stressful. Best wished for the two of you in finding the larger female walleyes at lake Ontario .

May everyone have a good night and Wednesday. best to all like Wallyworld who are fishing this week.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

Good evening trying to get adjusted to the recent increase in temperatures reached the low eighties here today.  Around 100 students at SUNY New Paltz held an anti Israel protest this afternoon.
I attended this afternoon's boy's varsity lacrosse game between Cornwall and Middletown high schools . Large crowd as it was Cornwall Youth Lacrosse day the kindergarten -second grade team had a short scrimmage at half time of the high school game. Lots of cheering. Good day for the high school team after last Friday's overtime loss to Washingtonville and losing yesterday to Highland. Today's game was against Middletown which is still trying to achieve their first victory of the season. Cornwall won the game 15 goals to 2 .  Cornwall changed it's goal keeper at start of third quarter Middletown scored both of it's goals against him . besides the goal keeper change other younger players (freshman. sophomores saw increased playing time. ) Hopefully the boy's build on this win and have a good game on Friday when they play against a team that is in their division/class size so a victory will help the chance of post season play depending on how Cornwall has does this season against other schools in it's division.
Hunts2long you may already know this students at Columbia Univ. had taken control of one of the campus buildings so college administration asked NYPD to come on campus and help take back control of the building. It has also been found among those arrested that people without a connection to Columbia are taking part in the protests and causing problems.
Ice Wanderer best wished for your son if he receives a permit from village of Lake George. I can see the current protests bringing back memories of the 1960's anti Viet-Nam war protests for you.  hopefully things can stay peaceful and protestors respect others with different opinion and their fellow students and college staff who are trying to go about normal college life.
Fish/hunt4ever this years does seem to be passing by quickly. best wished for your wife at this Saturday's expo.
Wallyworld congratulations on avoiding a visit from the striped kitty.
Oldsailor may things be good with you and the family.

Have a safe night everyone.

Good Morning Everyone,
I missed the first one yesterday, so welcome to the 2nd day of May!!   ;D    A comfortable 55* start with some fog this am, high of 70 forecasted.

Steve…congrats to the Cornwall team, glad they had a good crowd and got a much needed boost of confidence with their high scoring performance!
Wally….maybe not what you were targeting, but way to go avoiding the skunk with some slammer Smallmouths!!  :flex: Hope you find a pile of those big walleyes eager to play today….best of luck out there and thanks for sharing the picture here with us!
OS…hope all is well, how’s the garden coming along?
FH4…closing in on the weekend, it’s Friday Eve already….
Jeff…will keep the fingers crossed for your son everything works out well for him!     I didn’t see Cappy’s report on the hummingbird’s arrival here, but I imagine they are similar to the salmon run up in Pulaski, lol. They usually run in Sept.-Oct. but some arrive sooner like in July, August.  ;D  I spent the better part of the day outside yesterday and kept a good eye on the feeders, no visitors, count remains at one.
H2…hear any good reports from the reservoir yesterday??
Dave…think we’re all ready for some cabin porn again, let the countdown begin, lol!!!!

Caught a couple small stocker trout the other day, can’t seem to find any of size though, lol. Might have to do a trip with my boys and see how it’s done.   ;D
Have a follow up on the MRI this am with my surgeon and a couple appointments next week. Hopefully that will be it for most of the summer…..Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

52* and some clouds.

Eddie, there were a few boats out yesterday, more than I thought, seeing it opened on a Wednesday, no reports.

Mr. C, congrats to Cornwall. I do see the news and can't believe what I am seeing. It is not going to end well.

WW, nice bass. I always found early Spring to be very "hit or miss" with the walleyes, MORE misses, but it is always nice to get out there.

Scout goes in for a grooming later this morning.

Have a good day and be well....h2l
