Popped out to Scenic Sands at Buffalo Lake this afternoon for a few hours with Travice to try and cash in on some early season pike and burb's. There was a light dusting of snow on the ice, about 8" of decent ice, a few huts and some brave individuals who drove out.

Not too much in the way of action, there was a brief flurry of pike activity right off the bat but neither of us landed any. We had a few hit and runs on the tip-ups before Travice landed the first burb of the day, a little 3 1/2lb'er. We got a few smaller 60cm pike that had to go back

And I finally scored a small burb to take home.

I've definitely had better days out there, but it was great to get a few pike and burb's on the ice. The water was unusually clear and we were able to partially sight fish even at depth, a few 5lb+ pike came through, and I lost one about 6lb right under the ice. We packed up at sunset and headed home.
