I've used one open water like two or three times, never through the ice though.  How well would the blade spin I wonder?

They are one of my favorite walleye jigs thru the ice, not a lot of guys use them though.

yes braid to floro, straight chartreuse and black are my favorites, they are deadly on perch also in small size
