Guys - have a Lowrance Elite-5 in an ice pack that I really like using, IF one of the kids isn't using it. I also have an Elite-4X that has just the transom mount transducer. In an effort to save some money, does anyone have a slick idea for rigging this for ice fishing in the winter?

I'm sure there's enough adjustments to suit your need. http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=346276.0 (http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=346276.0)

Thanks for the link. Actually looking to go the other way - from boat to ice. Wondering what people have done to maybe package the unit and battery without the ice pack.

I just bought one of these for my Hook 5. Tried it yesterday. Works well.

You can still use that Scotty transducer mount for your transom mount transducer. Just screw or bolt the top unit to the F/F carrier.

i use a genz box for mine. Works great. Lowrance makes an ice ducer for those units.

I used a plastic ammo case and added a light and switch. My 4x, battery and dux=cer store inside the box for transport. I used the origanal 4x mount but you could use a ram mount.

I used a RAM mount on a bucket (battery inside bucket). Mostly use it while sitting on bucket (sonic hopper knock-off), but works well as a stand alone.

Back in the day we mounted everything to a small cooler. Worked well had room for a small tackle box, just use the bracket from the boat to the lid, get a small gel battery, may need to buy another power cord but if everything is accessible could use the one off the boat big thing is to have a small fuse so you don't fry the unit.
