First ice?

I was walking around on one of my secret spots today up near New Richmond. Easily 4" of good clear ice.

Here in Sheboygan there is a drainage pond that was not frozen over last night, but this morning there was enough ice for the geese to stand on all the way across.

I think I'll have to run out to the honey hole tonight and check ice there

Was out yesterday fishing first ice.   

Send the brother-in-law out.  He is lighter.

 We've had nearly a week of below freezing for a high temp and I'm ready to go...almost  always the last minute catch-up stuff to do, like get a new shack. But I'm plannin on going to Lake Eau Claire this weekend and try my luck

hey joekrz im not sure if thats you wearing that blue back pack but how do you or your buddy like those. i work for a plastic company and we supply some parts to the company that make those if they are the same ones. was talking to the owner about getting one of those but wanted some input first.

very cool pics Joe !! do you know anyone from Gleason ?? i have a cousin there..right on the "Prairie"..we usually hook up at least once a year on the hardwater... i'll be up there around Christmas..leave some fish for us !!!

I fish and guide on the Prairie a lot during the summer so I meet all sorts of people.

 I got 4 1/2-5" on lake Eau Claire, went out yesterday, goin out in the mornin again.

Watch out for those spots of ice that have those reed weeds frozen in.  That's an area that will turn to swiss cheese with a bit of sun shining on it.
