Burnett County
« on: Nov 19, 2008, 08:53 PM »
Any other Burnett County anglers here?

If anyone has ever fished Upper Twin Lake I would like to know how it was.  I have heard that it is boiling with bluegill and pike but there is no road access so you have to hike 1/2 mile in.

Anyone know if it is worth it?

I'd hike in from Oak Lak road, looks to be about a 1/4 mile hike.  If there are as many fish in there as people say it shouldn't be so bad.

Straight east of Sand Lake pretty much.  168 acres almost 0 fishing pressure.  I am going to fish it in 2 weeks and let you know.

I have a cabin on Mallard Lake. Which is right next to Sand Lake. I know some good spots to catch some decent northern and bass. I also know a couple good panfish spots...

So what was the verdict here? Is it a snot load of gills and pike or is it a long walk to a minnow pond? Where did you walk in from? Is that public land or private? My family has a cabin off of Shore Road just west of there.

If I'm not fishing or hunting right now, you can bet that I\'m thinking about it!

Do you really have to ask?  With no other posts...I'm assuming it was pretty good!

I wonder if it is private. I see 2 cabins on the north side. off Oak lake rd. I don't have a plat book so I don't know for sure.

We had a good time in there a couple years ago.  Was surprised to see this post again near the top.  Ha, caught a meal of gills but walking through the trees was not a great time.  I have found quite a few spots better in Burnett but I am focusing most of my time on Douglas these days.
