Snow depth
« on: Feb 11, 2021, 07:41 AM »
How much snow has a negative impact on the ice ?with the weight and insulating properties of snow at what point does it detriment the quality of ice? I know tons to factor in but example I fish locations around me one has about 6-8 inches and the other has 10-12. We have about 6 inches of snow on the ice but the temps have been hovering around 0 for highs and -15 for lows. I understand that for every 15° under 32° it should build 1 inch of ice over 24 hour period.
