I'm putting the kids clinic together for this year.
Last Sat in January if I can get it OKed with FWP and the Health Dept.
Should be able to social distance I would think.
Will post more info as I get it.
Sure missed having it last year.

Pond was capped yesterday, except for small patch of open water by the dock.

Great idea. Easy to distance when out on the ice, plus give the kids a chance to have some plain ol' fun for once while learning a lifetime sport. Minnesota not issuing permits this year for any type of ice or fish gathering. >:(

THE KID ICE FISHING CLINIC IS ON.
get you stuff ready kids, the kids clinic is on.
It is January 30th 2021
We won't be able to do the chili this year.
I will have pop and chips.
The prize closet is looking good.
We are in need of a few more volunteers.
Bring your masks and lets have a blast catching fish.

Is there an event for this on Facebook or elsewhere? I'd love to share it with the local Cub Scout Packs. We're all itching for something outside to do this winter. The social distancing stuff has really put a damper on our regular events.

I know of 10 kids for sure, or showed interest.

Can't charge or it becomes a commercial event and I would have to pay the state tax's and a cut to FWP.

Ah, crap. I was hoping to see a post from you saying you were 100% ready to roll.
Question for you, do you or have you ever explored trying to come up with a way to be able to accept cash donations for this event so folks like myself who think its a great thing you are doing but live out of the immediate area could donate cold hard cash to help defray some of the cost involved with putting something like this on.
I'm not a pay pal, venmo, zelle guru etc but it would be great if there was a way for someone to donate cash to the cause. If this option exists, please let me know cuz I'd like to put some cash into the kitty.

Always had a great time at this event, kids to.
FWP turned loose quite a few trout on Tuesday, [ some hogs also].
Hope all the rods stay above the ice.
Will be checking the ice with FWP on Thursday PM.
Will post when I get home.

HEY EVERYONE, the clinic is a Go.
See everyone Saturday, come in fishing mode.
The ice measured 6".
FWP planted 100, 10" trout, 80, 12"-16" trout and 50 18"-29" trout, better watch you poles.
Lets have some fun.
Volunteers, I will be there at 7:30am.

Every one get rested, Tomorrow is the big Day.
Fish are just waiting to be caught, hope it's "The big one".
Prize trailer is loaded, lot of goodies.
Remember sign up is 8:00am-9:00am, meeting, go fishing 9:15am-1:00pm, depending on ice conditions.
Bring a lunch, no chili this year, I will have pop and chips for snacks.
Volunteers I will be there by 7:30am, banners to hang, holes to drill and buckets to make, area needs flagged off
More help the better.

Another kids clinic is in the book, a great outing.
Had 61 smiling, happy, excited kids on the ice.
All caught fish, had a 6 way tie for smallest fish.
The big fish were a 6 1/2" monster perch and a 15" bass.
Everyone had a good time[ including the kids.]
If you were not there you missed a good time...sorry.
I want to personally thank all the sponsors and the great work of the volunteers, Thanks again..
After peck , will start on next years clinic.
