Finished the day with two Walleye three perch and a Tullibee. Made for a nice breakfast this morning except for the Tullibee it's still swimming.

Was out on Christmas Day. Ice was between 12-14 inches around the shacks just to the north.

Trucks were driving around that area.

Offline I got eight inches

At Alice Beach. Ice is thick, ~ 14" Trucks, shacks and tents up and down the lake both east and west sides but the fishing is slow. Anyone finding them? Hooks don't matter, not seeing anything on camera.
When I'm done drillin' - all that's left is an 8 inch wide, moist, dark hole that smells fishy......

Forgot a Mr heater and propane tank on the ice at Gibbs Beach (Last Mountain Lake) on dec 30, if anyone happened to hear of someone finding one! I’d love to have it back, beer and karma to follow!

For those that are discouraged, in the last 8 days I saw more big walleye caught and released on LML than I've ever seen in my life. And I fish a lot. If you're not marking fish, move, get out of your comfort zone. Don't just set up to where the other tents are. Try new ground. This week was amazing. Tight lines and Good luck out there.

Snell1 That is great to hear! I am new to fishing long lake so am not sure where to go. I have been out several times to Alice and Weetoo but have not had the luck that you are talking about. Is there somewhere specific that you would suggest trying? Or even a depth range to help me improve my luck? I know that long lake has some bad ice spots but am not familiar enough to know where they are. I would sure hate to find them on my own......

Hey Snell 1,
Well said and I agree about the walleye.
I’m also glad to hear some of those big ones are getting put back to reproduce.
Have tight lines and stay safe.

That is good to hear Snell I have been out to Island View and Rowans in 9 hours of sitting on the ice with my daughter all we managed was an 18” Walleye. Rowans on Tuesday was really windy and really slow.
Even using my best baits and tricks...nada
Would drop the camera down every once and a while see a few Perch but nothing wanting to gobble up our treats....dunno what I’m doing wrong.....so yes discouraged 🤔🤔😡

Hey Uzo, If you're not marking them all day, You gotta move. They might not always be biting, but they have to be there. Try deeper than you're used to fishing. Good Luck!

What beautiful day to be out fishing! No wind for the morning, lovely sunrise and warm weather for Jan. Today was my first time out at Alice. The bite was slow and very light, although I did manage to catch 8 Perch and 6 Wally's. Big shout out to Brad for the great visit during the last couple of hours.

Looking for some ice conditions at sarnia. My buddy was out last week in a truck but said the heaves were starting. Any word on how thick the ice is in that area and how bad the heaves are? Looking to go south of the island with my dad.   Feel free to PM me. Thanks.

Hi Whytie, I agree with Bisonfisher on the 20+ inches of ice, extremely bumpy and rough the first 50-100 yards out from shore but just go slow till it smooths out and no issues.
As for heaves there is a heave at the south end of the Island and heads across towards Islandview but from what we could see it peaters out 2/3rds of the away across and that was confirmed by watching people leave the island and head that way to get off the lake in the evening so obviously they were able to get past it.
So Sarnia to the island is clear sailing for ya, good luck and tight lines.

I'm curious as Adam the Fisherman was as well about anyone accessing the lake at Sorensons, ice conditions, heaves, etc, etc.
Or even Highwood and Kedelston for that matter?? Any info would be awesome, TIA guys.
