11 Mile Ice as of 12-22
« on: Dec 23, 2010, 10:22 AM »
Hate to be the bearer of bad news.....

As of December 22,

North Shore- Lot’s of open water some ice close to shore near Loop E , F and Stoll. Did not see anyone venture across the pressure ridge. The best ice appears to be in the Parking Lot Cove Area, 8” and stable. Only problem is no fish to be found after 3 hours in multiple locations only 1 fish was marked. Loop C and B have open water.

Stoll - has some ice and open water.

Sucker Cove – Open water both directions past the mouth of the cove. Small areas of ice exist in the bays on the South shore but it is deteriorating quickly.

Witcher’s cove has some decent ice close in. Not sure of the ice thickness further out.

All in all 11 Mile is sketchy at best and the areas that may have some good ice will concentrate the fisherman.

Let’s hope for some frigid temps ASAP (although the forecast for cold temps doesn’t look good) >:(

Hey, me and Hardwater Junkie were there on 12/22 as well.  Where'd you end up fishing?  Maybe we were next to you.
