just heard from a few friends that stone lake has 5in of ice still? not sure if its true but im going to check it out in the morning.

I was out there today and was on 5 inches of clear ice.

Got out on Stone today. A beautiful day on the hard water..good ice in the area where I was. We did get 4 inches of new snow last night, and I'm sure it will be melting tomorrow. I tried several baits today but all I could catch 'em on was G and G Proto type!

I would like to get out one more time before the end, for me that is Sunday because i work the next 2 weekends. Wondering if there is any ice around Valpo/Laporte but would hate to ask for ice conditions on this board. Only got out 2 nights this year, luckily one of them was the best crappie bite i've ever been on and i had my limit of 9-11's in under 2 hrs.

someone posted there was 3-4 in. of ice at loomis tonight. you can look  it up. Hoping to get out sunday also. maybe stone lake?  Can you park by the beach at stone?     Manny

The ice at loomis is sketchy at best some places non exsistent Be vawy cawful

Good luck in Michigan City, a buddy and I may be going that way in the morning also maybe see you up that way.  Have you heard anyone betting any?  I went Friday afternoon with a guy over to the Gary light and fished the warm water discharge and caught a mix of fish.  Couple Browns, a couple Steelhead, and a couple coho.  It was fun but a chilly boat ride.
