Good guess- I know thru the ice we fish right out from the ramp in 12 to 15 ft ow, seen a boat yesterday fishing this area, couldnt see any fish caught.
I would say to try it-should be there.

I icefished some great structure this year out there. I found some new flats and made some new gps spots. This lake never gives up any numbers to me. I know its a great lake but as far as numbers, Im stumped.

Tom, did you catch any? We took the boat to Newton lake (Illinois), and caught 2 dink bass. Lots of boats out, saw a couple of dinks caught by others. It was very WINDY!

We just fished from shore for awhile but was a waste of time, big ice flows coming in on the Big Lake-very dangerous for boats right now. I heard of that Newton Lake before-my parents lived in IL when they retired , Robinson, Oblong. Is that in that area.

We are planning a return trip, to Newton. I would like to do a late fall trip as well.
