Got out today since it wasn't -30C for a change. Still have to get runners on my trap so I'm not using it yet. Got to test out the new toy, Humminbird ICE45 flasher. Very impressed with it, to say the least.

We were on a lake that holds walleye, pike and perch. Almost right away my buddy Bryon had a good scrap with a pike. Turned out to be a nice 33" that we released without a picture.

The walleye and perch moved in later in the afternoon and we managed a few of them.

Here's my buddy Colin with a nice eye.

My first walleye on the ice this season.

We caught them on set lines and jigging spoons tipped with minnows. We were fishing a sand/weed flat in about 12-13FOW.

Nice eyes, looks like a great start to the hardwater season. We have ice now, just waiting for the weather to change. Yesterday it was -37 with the wind chill, this morning no wind -30, still a little too chilly for me.
