Well, after hearing about a metro place that still had decent ice, I decided to check it out for myself. The wind was blowing pretty hard when I got there around 3, went out nervously and talked to a guy, and saw that there was indeed 5in. of ice. Went back to the car and grabbed my stuff & went to a spot about 600ft. further out from where he was. Fished 11ft. of water and jigged about 15 minutes when my 1st mark came in. Followed it about a foot off the bottom & bamn, he nailed it!

Nice 19in. walleye. right at 4:00

Another mark came in 5min. later & I scared it off. Got another small one (jigging a gold rap) in the other hole. moved out deeper in 14ft. for awhile and got slammed by something @ 5:15. Felt good, but lost it as I tried to pull the transducer out, got off about 5:30.

Was probably 5 others out there while I was there, I was last one off, which was pretty creepy

Felt good to get a couple my 1st time out, hope the wind doesn't mess things up.

Jealous. Nice work. "Stuck" going to hockey games this weekend but am hoping for more fishing soon.

SWEET! Good job, Johnny! Very nice fish. Way to brave it out solo. That walk back alone at night can be scary, especially with sketchy edges waiting ahead of you.

Nice! I decided to head to Granby for the first time this season. Fished off of sunset and had almost 6” of ice. Landed 9.

I was fishing at 63’. Had continuous action from the get go. Smallest was about 14” and biggest was Joey st under 27”. 7 from the same hole and left that hole to find a CPR trophy (failed) after I had my limit of fresh tacos. Caught a couple at 74’ in another hole. Ice was considerably thinner as you pushed north towards the main lake. All fish had empty stomachs when I filleted them. Must have missed 20+ fish. Couldn’t leave a pole unattended because they were slamming the dead stick too. Didn’t even attempt 2 rods. Fun day.

Funny, almost every time I'm out there right around dusk for the magic hour, I see people leaving the ice heading to their cars...really? Are they scared of the dark?

Ice was softer, more open water in the middle, but sunny & no W*** !

Got 4 walleyes last night, #5 jigging rap & 1in. gulp minnow

There's just something peaceful about the hum and glow of a Vex that calms me down after having to hit my interference reject button one thousand times after Slayer comes over to sit on your lap with that damned Marcum
