Blue Mesa Today
« on: Dec 10, 2011, 07:13 PM »
Boy was it slow,3 fish between my wife and I and she caught 2 of them. She caught the biggest and the most. I am such a looser today.

I am blaming the slow fishing on the Eclipse and full moon this morning.
2 of the Fish(rainbows) were 14" and the other one was only about 10-11". My fish finder marked a lot of fish when we first got there and after 1 hour maybe 2 fish an hour. I had several holes from 5'-26'. Same in all the holes.

Ice was a good 12" east of the Lake City Bridge and the ice was out a good 200 yards west of the bridge. Only one brave sole went to the west and soon moved back to the east.  I should have taken the Spinning gear as the fish were rising quite a bit in the open water.

Was pretty cold for the first hour or so with winds up to 15MPH.
