Thanks for the encouragement, but still trying. I'm trying to upload two pics so I can enter them in the Tournament. The fish isn't huge, but I have to get this figured out so when the big one shows up, I'm ready.

Picture Posting Instructions;(from rgfixit with a few modifications)

Your photos must be stored online in order to post them.

You can open a free account with www.photobucket.com, www.myfishingpictures. com, or www.hunt101.com

The following instructions are for photobucket account members:

To add an Avatar picture to your account...

1st - resize the picture you want to a maximum of 120 x 120 pixels on your computer.
2nd - open up another window to photobucket and upload that photo to your photobucket account.
3rd - Left click on "IMG Code" for that picture (this will copy the photo info)
4th - Open your Iceshanty "profile", then click on "forum profile information" and paste the address to the "I have my own picture" box and check that box. Your avatar should be displayed in all your posts. You can change your avatar at any time.

To post pictures to the site...

1. Upload your pictures to your photobucket account.
2. Resize any pictures you'd like to post to a maximum of 400x600 pixels. Larger pictures distort the forum page and take longer to load. This can be done easily in Photobucket using the "Edit" options.
3. Open your photobucket album and find the photo you want to add. Place your cursor over the picture and a drop down menu will appear. Left click on the 'IMG Code" and the picture will be automatically copied to your "clipboard".
4. Go to your post you want to add it to on iceshanty.com, right click and "paste" the info.
(if you copy the image code, it already has the "img" tags on the address and no further action is needed.)

For other photo storage sites that don't install the "img" codes onto your photo addresses, you'll have to add them manually.

The "Add BBC tags:" tool bar is at the top of every message dialog below the "Subject" dialog box and the "Message icon". In the lower row, click on the 2nd icon from the left...the "Insert Image" icon(it looks like a small picture).

The command [ img][/img] will appear in your text message.
Paste the address of your picture between the commands like this;
[ img]paste your image location here [ /img]
Be sure not to add any spaces or other characters.

Preview your post to be sure your picture is there and then choose post.

Thanks for the info, I am glad to see that I am not the only one who is just not "geek" enough to figure this out alone.

at what point are you having trouble? sometime im on line and you are i would be willin to try to tudor you,
i have done it for a few and it got done, also bilditrite moderator on the maine board is very good at it, if you ask him id bet he would
give it a go .
1, do you have your photos stored in a file on your computer?
2, have you a photobucket account? with your photos transferd to it ?

Oak, Yes the photos are stored in a folder and have been uploaded to photobucket. I am going to attempt again tonight. Don't know if you are on right now, but if so, I would appreciate any help. icecube

Question for anyone. I now can copy and paste with success, but would like help in how to get two pictures on same post. I have tried several times but it always pastes the same picture twice rather than two different ones. Thanks for the help. icecube.

Just copy and paste one link (photo) on one line, hit the enter key a time or two to add blank lines, then copy and paste the second link (photo).

You are using the same link twice.

The 2nd link should be from the 2nd picture you want.

You must be coping and pasting the same link twice, somehow.

this is what I'm doing step by step. Clicking on picture one img.,then right clicking to copy. Click on picture 2 img, right click, copy. Go to ice shanty paste enter 4 times, paste, and each time it is whichever picture I have chosen first.

You have to do those steps for each image - i.e. go to picture one and copy and paste to Ice Shanty - go back to picture two and copy then paste to Ice Shanty, etc., etc., etc.

I have been trying that, but each time I go back to photbucket and back to ice shanty, the post I started is gone.

Open two windows in your browser (open your browser twice if you have to - one to IceShanty and another to Phtobucket.

for an avatar, click on Direct Link, but resize to small first
