Morning, Gang

Snow falling, enough of a breeze to make it 'bite', not supposed to get above freezing today

Have to hook up the battery charger to my van, made the stupid mistake of leaving the gps plugged in, causing a battery drain :P >:( , that's what happens when you
don't use the vec. for a week

And the count down begins only about 6 more hours of work and then off. Stayed below freezing and the w stopped so far now just to see how much sand and dirt is on the ice. A balmy 9 degrees right now.

I understand the silence as we have lots of open space here and can get away from it all. The lake I am going to is 15 miles long and the closest town only has about 250 people. So at night I can hear the occasional car on the highway when I am out on the lake just watching the stars. Almost cannot wait as I am sure not many will be out on this lake as the other close lake with walleye in it is having a benefit derby this weekend that o have heard a few are going to. Hopefully tomorrow will have some ice porn and maybe a fish or 2 to post for you all.

Good afternoon everyone

Eddie.... enjoy your long weekend Sir! Hope you and the boys get some ice time

IW..... dang nice mess of fish  No fishing plans at the moment here.

F/H4... Best of luck when you finally get on the ice

WW..... Hope your snow dumping fizzles just as ours did

Capt.J..... Hope the jumpers got the van to popped right off

Bud..... Hope your trip home is/was uneventful

Rowdie.... Welcome to the thread, always a chair waiting for you

mr.clean hope things are going well at the store. Are you ready to hit the ice?

Well the big storm with a predicted 8"+ of snow and 40-50mph winds all fizzled. Not sure what the reason the guessers were blaming their ineptitude on this time ??? I'm sure it wasn't their fault. Regardless the 2.5" we did get is all scraped and blown, ready for the next mighty storm to hit.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and healthy.

Good evening all !I was up early for a dr. appt. for my hand I have been having suspected issues of carpal tunnel in the hand that got mangled in the snowblower a couple of years ago. I got a cortisone shot in the wrist to see if that helps. Also have an appt. for next month for a hand scan to see if surgery is needed. Hopefully get this all done this winter before spring fishing. Stay safe, stay well, and STFAH!!!!

I feel for all youze guys with lousy ice so I'm doing my civic duty and sending some 90 year cold to freeze your butts by. Now I don't want to hear you whining that it's too cold, the the ice is too thick, my truck won't start or my fingers fell off. Just fish and enjoy the deep freeze!!!!

                     Good morning ER's,
It's 28* here on my hill with some wind. ::)

                              Reb.........Happy belated Birthday.
Wally.......I'm glad the roads got better as the day went on, I didn't go anywhere yesterday so the only time I saw the road was when
snow blowing my drive, by the time I got to the road they were a little slushy.
Steve.......The stores around here are stocked well so far but time will tell.
Yesterday after I posted I went out to clear my drive way, around 12:30 and it took me till 4:15 to get it done. The snow was so heavy I
had to go in first gear. The snow that came off my roof on to my back deck was so packed I had to ram my blower in to it to make a dent.
Today will a take it easy day, Oh I have to put some dividers in a big drawer in our kitchen, my wife rearranged things again.  :%$#!:

Good Morning Jeff, Morning Everyone,
29* with steady winds here this am, 15-25mph, high in the mid 30’s today.

Jeff...no fishing report to give, never made it out yesterday. We had about 5-6” of that heavy white snow also, fought with that as well yesterday morning plugging up the snowblower and all the fun stuff, lol. Stopped and bought bait Friday after work, didn’t realize we were going to have the grandchildren all weekend, so that kind of put a squash on things. Definitely going out tomorrow!
Dave...will be looking forward to that cold blast, thanks for sharing the info!
Wally...sounds like Mr.WW’s truck is getting ready for a road trip! Any plans in the making?   :icefish:
H2...saw a few more pictures yesterday, friends of my sons from Sacandaga...some real big pike taken! Will be keeping your wife in thoughts and prayers with the next procedure...God Bless.  Good luck on the lanes tonight!
Marv...hope the tree job went well....did you fire up the new saw?
Spitz...awesome job on the Rainbows, beautiful pictures....thanks for sharing!
Steve...excellent prize package, hope they all bring you luck this season!
FH4...that’s a crazy looking picture with all the sand on top of the lake, wow! Now I understand how dirty ice puts a beating on auger blades, that’s crazy! Hope your hitting some fish!
  Rowdie...welcome aboard the 9:45!

Yesterday morning was another case of the missing IPad...Doh!  It reappeared somewhere around 9am when the smell of bacon was drifting through the house...deader than a door nail.  ;D
Not a whole lot planned for today, might take an hour or two and go super light to the lake with just a jigging rod and spud around checking the ice. Saw quite a few people out on Saturday, but nobody in the area I like to fish....might be a good reason behind that. Cawfee’s on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning. 34* I think most of us around here spent some time moving snow. We got about 3" but it was wet.
F/H4, thanks for the picture. Seems like it has been months since we have seen anything but clouds.
Eddie, there are days when plans can change pretty quick. Lindsay and Rocky came up for the day and she had some pictures of a couple nice pike her friend caught last week. One just 40" and another just over 40. Both were released. Watched the Bills last night, if we get the wind they had, you better put a rock in your pocket. Good Luck.

Thanks for the thoughts for the wife. They are telling us that is why she gets tired out so quick. I tell her not to "snow blow" the driveway all at once....lol. They have been putting it off for about 6 months because of an infection she had.

Everyone have a good day and stay well....h2l

Good morning IW, Eddie! Good morning everyone

20 only making it to the mid 20's  by the afternoon.

IW..... Good luck finding where everything got moved to :roflmao: I hate when that happens too.

Eddie..... best of luck if you make it out :icefish: The new saw is still a virgin, it very well will stay that way for awhile.

Dave..... Things are supposed to start getting nippy here by the end of this coming week. Thanks for the report

WW...... Always exciting buying some new tires ;D Now to try them out

h2l....Good luck with the bowling  Thoughts and prayer for your wife.

Betty White.......Happy 99th Birthday if you are reading along. May you have many more

Yesterdays tree was pretty easy. It took me 1 hour to get there and 20 minutes to drop it and make 8 cuts on the log.

Not much going on today.

Only one smaller sauger that I has stayed on the ice. Let another one go and lost a rainbow at the hole and lost another fish just before seeing what it was. Lost about a dozen minnows but have had some action. Cannot beat waking up to this though.

WS.....glad the job went smoothly  :flex:  enjoy the quiet day today  ;)

Eddie....careful if you venture out, the snow will make it difficult to see any weak spots   no trips planned  :(  the tires went on MrWW's FD vehicle

IW.....hope all the snow removal didn't make for achy muscles today  :-\  been snowing all day here, maybe a 1/2" has actually accumulated  ::)

H2L....you won't be able to keep MrsH2 down once she gets her new parts  :woot:   good luck tonight  :)

Another warm day for January. What little snow that hit the cement on the driveway melted as it landed. I am ready for a little bit of Drifter's vortex as long as he does not send me the extreme temperatures he gets. I have not had to blow any snow in a couple of weeks.

I had a pleasant surprise yesterday. The son of the friend that died the same day as the other friend in December stopped by for a while. I had not seen him in years. We spent a couple of hours reliving old times. He was on his way back from racing his three snowmobiles on the ice at a lake north of me. He is in his early 50's but has still not grown up. ;D

H2L Prayers that your wife has no problems with her procedure.

F/H4E You can not beat a sunrise like that! You have never seen sand in ice until you have fished on my home lake. It is adjacent to 1000+ acres of sand dunes. I  bought a hand sharpener for my 6-inch mora so I did not have to keep sending the blades out to get sharpened. Google "Silver Lake Sand Dunes" and you can see what I am talking about. They are big enough to be seen in satellite pictures.

Spitz That is a beautiful colored rainbow.

Shopping yesterday was a zoo. That had a 10 for $10 sale with the 11th item free. The shelves were about empty. I could not get what I wanted. People had whole carts full of 2-liter pop. Luckily it is a two-week sale so maybe next week.

Rebless Just to let you know that you need to make two cakes for March 1 as Raq and I share the same birthday. I prefer chocolate. I will pm you my address so you can ship it instead of eating it.

Last week I went over to the other place to bring back the rest of my ice fishing tackle. I am giving most of it to my grandson as he is taking it up. I also have a few custom fishing rods that my dad made for me that I want to pass on to him.

Wally...with a little luck, and no wind, some of the bigger lakes out your way should be making some ice this week.   Hope you have some plans in the making to see the grandchildren and family soon...imagine that will reopen the bakery again for all of us!  ;D
FH4...awesome pictures of the sunrise, thanks for sharing your trip here!
Marv...glad to read the tree job went smoothly, excellent!   The winds were strong all day here yesterday, took a pass on the afternoon ice check but did drive by the lake, couple of guys out. Heading there this am and meeting up with my son this afternoon for a few hours on another lake.
H2... won’t need the rock this am, lol....congrats to Lindsays friends on the pike, some bruisers!!   Hope you and the team swept the lanes last night!
Jeff...fingers crossed the extended forecast I saw up your way holds true! Saw some single digits and a negative for overnight lows...should put some ice on the King! Will be looking forward to hooking with you this season!
Bud...hope you have had a safe journey!

Anxious to drill some holes this am and get the gear out where it belongs! Probably won’t be much of a sunrise with the cloud cover, but I’ll have the camera ready. Today’s target...anything that bites, lol. Cawfee’s on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!
