Post by: muskyon46 on Oct 09, 2018, 10:26 AM
I know alot of people enjoyed this post last year so I put it up again and hopefully it keeps going. If its an old image by the date stamp on the bottom try refreshing the page. Seems to update it if it doesnt do it on its own

SNOW!!! 2 days in a row now, that's just what I needed to see. Temps next week should freeze a few puddles on the road that's for sure. Great conditions for the elk hunt starting this weekend in between storms.

:roflmao: :roflmao: I guess I should have said it will be great for those heading out. Thanks for the good luck juju Dom but regrettably I put my rifles away years ago. Now I just head up with the guys, ride my SXS around and fish local spots if they aren't to far away. And of course responsibly have some cold ones  ::) ::)

Hey folks...been looking forward to seeing Matt's Bald Pass camera feed for months as it marks the start of another season! Thanks Matt.

Will be pulling out all the gear this week and should be thoroughly annoying my wife with ice-talk by the weekend.

See you guys out on the ice soon.....

Not a prob Damon, its been pretty cold up there and hasn't been above the 32deg mark since the 7th. Now this is not the most accurate spot for measuring temp as there is a ton of wind chill going on there and have found the Trial lake station better for watching the temps. If it doesn't warm up to much this weekend into next week there could be some ice for sure    FYI it has also been really cold up at Henrys and there is a bit of snow on the ground that can be seen on the state park cam. The cam at the Rose is no longer available from what the site is saying, so much for watching it form there anymore  :'(

Hey Matt that looks pretty snowy up there good luck on the hunting trip this weekend. Think I’m glad I was muzzleloading instead. Check the lake ice for us while your up in the high country. Been cold since the end of September so might be getting some safe ice before too long.  Later J

That snow is definitely starting to stack up. Hopefully it doesn't get too much on any newly formed ice over the next week or so. I'll be checking some places further north and am fully expecting to be throwing hardware, plastics or bait on open water while Lawrence and a couple others are chasing the muleys

Thanks, Matt.
Definitely got back into ice-mode this past week. Spent Saturday starting a couple of mods for the snowdog, replaced the line on all of my  reels, ordered some msc gear online....and officially got my wife into "eye-rolling" mode for the season.

Bring on the cold temps!

Rumor on the local news is they are going to shut down mirror lake hwy this weekend. Not sure if I really belive it but we may try to make a run up sometime before Sunday if all the cards fall in the right places  :icefish: :icefish: :icefish:

I hope you find some hard water.  Just hasn't been that cold lately.

Did a drive up the Mirror Lake Hwy this past weekend and road was open/clear. Got up to Trial Lake and found only a skiff of ice on part of the lake near the dam...rest was open water and there were folks bank fishing.
