Crappie_Killer,

We just finished building our shack last week.  Actually got to use it last w/end for the first time.  Took us 6 weeks to build an 8' X 16' shack.  One of the biggest considerations for us was the weight.  We ended up using metal studs and tin siding.  This cut the weight in half.

Altho we wired it for 110V to use with a generator, we also decided to wire it with 12V and use a deep cycle battery from the boat.  That was a very good idea.  We used the 12V more than the 110V, altho it can't do everything.

Depending on the type of heat you'll be using (we used wood) consider window that open for ventilation.  We had a problem with the chimney which got damaged on the drive out to the lake.  Needless to say we had the windows open all w/end.

Consider going to your local RV dealer to locate a used or salvaged RV door.  We picked one up for $20 and it came with two locks.

Anyway, those are a few of the things we did.  There's more tho.
