Fun PB fish. 3rd Northern ever and what a northern it was! 10 lb test and a tiny Rosie for bait.... scared to lose it the whole time.

I'm cautiously optimistic about ice over 20-24th. Low wind, below avg temps.

Just checked out a few webcams and there is some ice along shore and out a little bit. Not much and not sure how long it will be there, but it's a start.

Why didn't you go big like Phil or did he not go to the bigger lake?

He wanted a change of scenery and do some scouting.

I went with Rotha to George.

He said he did ok.... But im waitng on pics ;D

To the fisherman that risked your life over a few perch and the life of another person.  Glad you are safe.  But your welcome I called 911 for you from an hr south of lake george I seen you take a plunge on the Webcam.  To all the other anglers think before you risk your life and the lives of your rescuers.  For the record there was only about an inch of ice yesterday at 5pm.

Must have been crazy seeing that on a webcam.

Good on you for calling it in

I saw that on cam. There was a guy running out on the ice to get to him, and he fell thru, got out, and continued on to the person in the water. Looks like he was able to help get him up on the ice, then they shut the web cam down. Good call Diamond jig 86

I watched him fall through as well. I called my friend who is a chief of glens falls fire department.  No fish is worth your life man, I watched him struggle to get out, a second guy ran out there and fell through trying to help the other guy out. The 2nd guy pulled himself out and went over to help the 1st guy out. I believe he fell in right next to him. If it wasn’t for the webcam that guy might not have his life right now. Hopefully everyone is okay. Be smart guys no fish is worth your life.

So you're saying the lake that froze last night isn't ready to fish yet?
I'm not saying they're biting on Brant.  But they probably are

Quick thinking and I'm glad everyone is safe. Hopefully the wind stays down and we get some ice made this week.

No spuds, no safety gear.  Makes me wonder if they are anxious city folk that don't fish often.  You know the type that want to have a conversation with you have you've just completed a 4 mile pull and are completely out of breath...
Some people don’t get it kudos to the gentleman who called everyone’s itching to get out on the queen but not that badly!
The irony of this is the big lake a few exits up has great ice and a wicked perch bite...

they actually went out in a pontoon boat to get them, which should tell you all you need to know about how thick the ice isn't!!!

I'm surprised they didn't use the airboat.  Not enough time to get it out?

They had the airboat there but guys had already gone out in a regular boat. I actually took some video on my phone while watching the webcam.
