3-4 inches of snow at most maybe more in other spots. A good 8-10 inches of ice plenty safe for sleds and wheelers.

Only 8-10" of ice??  We have 12-16" on Sac Res. Would have thought there would be at least 16"+

Thanks for reply.

Jeff. Mainly 6-10' straight out from launch, towards the right gets deeper as you go towards the back drops to 30' bowl. Not any "official" topo maps anywhere.

Hi guys - just wondering about the no fishing in shelters rule.  Understanding no pike would count for the tourney, I was thinking about jigging for panfish.  Do people jig for something for the table when the flags arent popping?

You can jig outside your shanty....you can even enter a winning pike if you jig it up outside your shanty where other people can see it.  You can't have over seven lines though.  We are just trying to cut down on cheating.  Anyone caught cheating (and we have caught some) are disqualified and will NEVER return, EVER!

That's awesome to see a local group of guys headed up. I'm from New Hampton NY. Headed up for the 4 hour ride as well with a total of 5 of us.

Helmets on ATVs? How concerned should I be with DEC checking on this? Anyone have any issues in the past at this tourney? I fished the tourney last two years, saw people without helmets on ATVs and snowmobiles.

depends on the moment, if you have one you should wear it. I have seen guys ticketed and others warned, and others nothing....

So I'm guessing I will get a ticket if I bring my side by side because our rediculous state won't let me register it?

there are always many side x side machines there. the DEC is not there to harass anyone as long as you abide by the rules set forth. keep in mind this is a small lake(pond) and will have 800-900 people fishing with most groups 4-5 people if not more accounting for quite a bit of space. this is not the place to be running your machine around at a high rate of speed or they will harass you. not directing this at you Framer1, just saying this in general. good luck and see everyone there come Saturday!!

It wont be as bad as 4-5 years ago when they had a ton of snow and settled the ice and there was 2 rivers on the ice in the plowed roads with everyone getting stuck

O boy, I hope it doesn't get like that. I wasn't there for that year, but I have seen some videos. I'm not to concerned, just left wondering should I bring a shovel for the shanty, creepers for boots, snowmobile, things like that. Don't want to forget something that could be useful under specific conditions.

Hey any of the local bait shops open all night Fri or open early for the contest. Not going to arrive until 3am. Don't want to leave ice to get bait. Thanks in advance coming from Orange county. Jeff

Door prizes are picked at noon.  You have until 4 to pick them up at the prize trailer.  All other cash and 4 wheelers gets handed out at 4 until done.

While I can't say 100% that you won't get a ticket, D.E.C. has been pretty good and chances are you won't unless you start acting stupid. We have a quite a few side by sides who haven't been ticketed at the event.   Don't call attention to yourself and they will look the other way in most instances.  They have been pretty good for years.
