I know they have those in Kocanusa as well. Wonder if it freezes and anyone fishes it. Can't recall ever hearing anything about it on here but I know guys catch some big ones open water. Another lake to think about now...

16#,that has to be the most impressive trout we have seen here on IceShanty.I normally do my best not to catch the speckled carp but we don't have anything like that lurking here!

Koocanusa doesn't typically freeze over very well. It used to probably 15 years ago but lately they fluctuate it so much it never builds good ice at least closer to the dam where I see it most. Maybe some of the bays higher up get good ice but I am not sure.

Yes we do! chad stewart is mounting a 14.5lbs rainbow some dude caught at the silos.

Thanks guys! It even gets better for me...my wife didn't even flinch at the $500 taxidermy bill! I think she could see how over-the-top excited I was. I still can't believe we landed it with such small tackle. Like my grandpa used to say "better to be lucky than good!".

We have a stock pond that has kams in it. They are such an awesome fish to bad fwp doesn't think so. We got one on the wall 24#

I got no photo right now I don't brag about the actual fish it was brought in with a pitchfork but it was such a pretty fish it had to be mounted. I will get a pic next time I am at the farm. Kokes are awesome my 5 year old got a 15# on a fly pole. They are amazing fish!
