FIRST ICE OUTING OF THE YEAR AND SOME FIRSTS FOR MY SON

HIS FIRST SAUGER

HIS FIRST LING THRU THE ICE
I THINK HE'S HOOKED ON ICE FISHING. GAVE HIM THE JOB OF CLEANING THE ICE CHIPS FROM THE HOLES AND HE WAS BUMMED WHEN I WAS DONE DRILLING HOLES! HE DECIDED IT WAS HIS JOB TO CHECK THE TIPUPS AND HAND OVER HAND THE LINES EVEN IF THE FLAG WASN'T TRIPPED. KEPT ME BUSY, BUT WAS MORE-THAN-WORTH-IT WITH THAT GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR AFTER HE PULLED IN EACH FISH BY HIMSELF. HE FELL ASLEEP ON THE TRIP HOME, BUT AS I WAS PUTTING HIM IN HIS BED HE AWOKE AND ASKED IF WE WERE GOING "ICESISHING" TOMORROW. JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!

AND HE WONDERED WHY IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET TO OUR FISHING SPOT

PART OF THE REASON WHY IT TOOK SO LONG.

BTW - GREAT PICS FROM ALL AND CONGRATS ON THE EARLY SUCCESS THIS SEASON! KEEP 'EM COMING!

Good to meet you the other day at Scheels Mike, got them perch right where we were talking about

Da-Jigger, wish you were there bro, it was a good time. We spent 45 minutes drilling a lane out there and checking ice to see if I could get my quad to the point, we didn't want to drag everything out there...

.. worth it though.. I was still beat from yesterday, dragging sleds is for suckers!!! The action was HOT, doubles in the shack with my buddy from 1030 till 330( IceDipper, a new Iceshanty member and ice fisher and is now very hooked!), lots of sorting. The fish got better later in the day, I bet early on we were releasing 5-6 for every keeper. I haven't seen my vex so hot in ages. We drilled ALOT of holes out there and it all seemed like it was going to be a heavy sorting day, so we set up shop and went at it.

I caught the majority of them perch, there was a lot of sorting. By sorting I mean throwing back all of the 4 inchers henrychinaski was catching and keeping all of mine
