All fish are from Ft. Peck. Those lip grippers are Cabelas and its all I ever use. I generally wont kill fish like those so gaffing is not an option for me. Fish usually come up through the hole with their mouth open and with some practice, you can lip grip those fish just as easy or easier than gaffing. As for the one big Northern in the darker picture. That picture was first light of morning so it is a little dark. I should have kept that fish and had it mounted because she was very unique. No skin pigment or usual markings normally found on a Pike. She was completely silver. Maybe a fish version of an albino. I dont know. Its the only one like it I have ever seen come out of Peck.

Thanks for sharing Icetroll and props on the catch and release. We caught and released a couple silver colored  pike up by the dam 3 yrs. ago. Been meaning to pick the brain of a local fish biologist on the matter. Strange for sure.
So many fish, so little time.

That is me in the picture above.  You are looking down the throat of a 6 pound lake trout just in case anyone was wondering. ;D  We also had a 4 and 9 pounder on the ice as well.

2 1/2 pound largemouth from riverfront park.

my wife with her first bluegill threw the ice, she fished for an hour and a half to catch it. I'm so proud of her :)

8-10 inches. been catching a lot of small gills and crappies, along with a few bass and perch, no size to the perch or most bass, managed to catch a 3-4 pound carp today.
safe ice, tight lines and god bless!

Took my nieces to Placid for their first day of ice fishing. Fishing was a little slow but we all caught some. They even wanted to drill their own holes(5" auger) We had a blast, thought I'd share some pics.
