Navionics Web App
« on: Mar 06, 2015, 12:55 PM »
Didn't even know this existed -

That said I bought the Navionics app for my Phone, but this is free!

http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en

Very helpful!

I could spend hours on the couch studying the structure and contours...(ok maybe I have already)

Hope this isn't a repost and proves helpful to some.  I know my stoopid ass chasing lakers find it very helpful.

$10 for the app on iphone and you wont regret it. I use it all the time. Helps so much in finding what depth you want to fish. You no longer have to say "I wonder how deep it is over there". Another great thing is you open the app, hit the little arrow button, and it shows you exactly where you are. Great app overall, plus it will come in handy with the boat.

I have it on my smart phone and it is impressive. I was looking to try a reef today in the Missisquoi bay and drove my wheeler right to it. Very cool and worth the 10 bucks it cost to buy. I have other mapping on my summer fishing boat but this app is something for an ice fisherman.

I've been using this for kayaking and fishing for years. Well worth buying the full software.

I just checked and it isn't on the app. Too bad because bomo is a great lake. Possibly it will be coming.

If you have a chart plotter that records sonar logs. You can help to by simply putting an SD card in your chart plotter and hit record while your on any of these lakes. you can even helo make the mapping better on lakes that already have mapping. After you record for the day take your SD card into your laptop or computer go to www.navionics.Com and follow the steps to uploading sonar files. It's free

::)Neither?    I just zoom in on my intended dishing area and print it off my PC.   I have Navionics on my boat's Lowrance but it helps to print out maps for preplanning or simply marking hot spots over the season.
My annual fishing log will include dates, site maps and fish success or failure.
My wife has both Apple Ipad and pod but she won't let me touch them.  I have a Kindle Fire but it doesn't do lake maps??  Even if it did my wife won't let me bring it on the ice or boat >:(

When you are seeing a depth number [sounding] with multiple digits where it looks like you have one larger and one smaller number, treat it as a decimal.

Larger (regular font) number = full depth unit
Smaller (subscripted) number = 1/10 depth unit
Where your depth unit is set up on the chart plotter or Mobile App as feet, meters, or fathoms.
