How about Lake Summerset?  Heard some good thing about her.  It might be worth the trip. :)

I'm from Mt. Prospect and I would be keen to a get together with fellow IceShanty members. There are many good spots in Northern Illinois to hold an event. Someone needs to nominate a spot and we can all put it to a vote. Deep Lake is a good bet, Petite on the Chain would be another. Where ever it is we should be sure there is enough parking for all.

i agree with deep lake petite lake or pistakee. also long lake to in fox lake  but parking there could be limited.  where is there public access to petite?

I haven't been out on Petite in a couple years, but I use to park on the north side where Khemps used to be. There is a lot and the last time I was there the owners of the place were very nice. If I remember right I went in and had a beer and talked to the people. Another good choice on the Chain would be Channel Lake. There is ample parking for everybody (small fee) and the fishing can be great in the south bay. I have spent quite a lot of time out there over the years and you can catch Bluegill, Crappie, Walleye (9 lbs in late 80's) and Northerns. It can be great if you work the area and don't just sit in one spot.

I am from Carol Stream, I try to get out ice fishing locally several times during the season. Channel Lake is always pretty good, but on the weekends it gets pretty busy. I wouldn't mind getting together with fellow members, Its always fun to fish with new people.

I think the Thirsty turtle would be a great spot to do it. Plenty of parking, fishing has been pretty good around there, and it's a bar! How can you go wrong. LOL!!

Although most people that fish the south bay fish primarily for panfish, this bay does give up some real nice Walleyes and Northerns and occasionally a LM Bass or Musky every year. Even on the weekends when the it sees most of it's pressure it can be a fun place to be. If we can get enough guys out there trying different things we're bound to find some success.

Hit fox lake before sunrise and close to sunset.  I'm hoping we'll have good ice in the next 3 weeks.

North of Evergreen under 6 inches snow today.   Channel or Pistakee or good old E if it catches fire.....

New guy here, I'm in West Chicago, and this will be my first year for hardwater. Anyone ever get on the ice in DuPage? I think it sounds like a lot of fun getting together somewhere, and I don't mind roadtrips.
