1-c 2-b 3-heat during the day and must be a large body of water(expansion)and contraction when freezing at night 4--ice picks, safety rope and cold water suit--5-gas bubbles or warm water

4.Ice Picks, Personal Flotation device,a length of light nylon rope 50'-200'
5.They are caused by the steady release of marsh gas from the lake bottom. The rising gas pulls a plume of warmer water up from deeper in the lake that keeps the hole open. The gas comes from decomposition of vegetable matter on the lake bottom.and 2.Reef Holes
Reef holes are similar to warm water holes except that they occur at the same spot each year.
