No Problem. Safe fishing. I'm still new to machines on the ice and haven't worked up the nerve to take my quad on yet.

Yeah first time my father in law took me out there on his I was extremely nervous. Now it doesn’t faze me at all. Just take your time keep your eyes open be cautious and you should be good to go.. sure beats dragging a sled by hand when the ice allows for it.

Hi everyone! I'm looking to fish Chautauqua lake tomorrow or this weekend. I've never fished it before, but have gone ice fishing many times. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to a parking location (I will be walking). Was hoping to catch a couple walleye. I was thinking of going out at the boat launch near Prendergast Point and finding any drop offs or structure. Thanks for any info.

most walkers are fishing long point lotta parking and not a long walk , check with hogan's hut by the bridge on 86

Where can you head out of to put machines on the ice, if you have to trailer them in?

Last year I went out of prendergast with my machine and didn’t have any problems, I’m planning on heading out of longpoint this weekend but have never went in there with a machine before only on foot so I have to do some research and find out if anyone will give me any trouble for launching there. I have heard Prendergast but that is what scares me. I fished there last year on 10" of ice and when I was heading off, fell through the ice when I got to the edge of the two docks

Yeah you are exactly right, a buddy that I was with put the rear end of his quad through the ice between the docks at the launch as well. Luckily we were able to get it out as it was only 5 feet off land, but there was a pretty beat down path from snowmobiles and atvs to the right of the docks if your looking at the water from the parking lot that we used and we never had any issues over there

Thanks for the info. Now I just have to figure out how to target the walleye and I am set. Haven't pulled an eye through the ice in a few seasons.

You guys will have no problems launching out of long point with machines. There is three main spots to do it. By the marina, by the bathhouse,and 3/4 out the point to the north. All three spots are fairly flat and have plenty of ice. Parking isn’t an issue either. Plenty of room for trucks with trailers.
