Big Pike and Walleye on Bait ban lake. What to use?
« on: Dec 24, 2016, 06:15 PM »
Heading to Winefred in the new year and it is a bait ban lake.  Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions regarding lures.  Never chased trophy pike without a tip up...

Spoons.  Get some silver and gold in your arsenal.  Something that will flutter when free falling but can be jigged nicely as well.

If waters stained, there is lots of snow or over cast conditions I like a rattle bait like a rattlin rap.
The jigging minnows like a jigging rap should go on the list of stuff to bring as well as the normal twister tail jigs and random spoons.

I would also bring some glow in the dark spoons, jigs just to have for dusk dawn and night.   The simple fact fishing without bait is that the only time fish may bite might be in the prime time windows of low light.
