Joey Domes,

The snow definitely insulates the ice, which slows down the freezing process. We will need help from guys fishing the lakes to let us know how this latest fall affects our current ice. With the temps staying towards the lower degrees this week, I am hopeful the ice will remain the same as it was this past weekend. This past weekend the ice was great. I will be watching for reports, and talking to fellow anglers. I am planning on fishing again Sunday. I am over two hours south, so I do not have the liberty of looking for myself. Secondly I have my children fishing with me, so obviously safety first. This past weekend the ice was way better then I expected, being that most lakes have open water somewhere on them.
