Does anyone have any Burbot fishing tips
« on: Mar 08, 2014, 08:15 PM »
Was planning on going out for some Burbot tomorrow but I am not very experienced at catching them. I have herd that Minos will work fine and to keep my hook about an inch from the bottom, but what kind of hook do use? Does any one have a different strategy for catching them?

burbot are not that hard to catch, a jig and minnow work good as do jigging spoons like pimples or crocodiles, bait can be minnow, eyeballs, meat etc. jig close to bottom, occasionally letting hook thump the bottow to stir up slit and then hold it still, they like to hit a static bait if you jig fast they usually wont chase your hook. good luck
