Just got a new MH fenwick rod with fluegar reel and wondering what line to put on it for jigging walleye? Mainly use 1/8 to 1/4 oz spoons to jigging raps. Braid Mono? Pound Test?
-
4-6 lb test would be fine. Mono or fluorocarbon lines will do. I hardly use braid, unless it's strictly in the heated shack.
-
6lb micro ice has worked well over the years for me.
-
As far as strength, 6lb is fine fore most areas (unless you are in Erie or Bay of Quinte, the 8 or 10 I would guess). As far as type, braid is great if its warmer or you're in a heated house/portable, otherwise I have always used Sufix Ice Magic in the past. I'm spooling 1 rod up with Sufix Invisiline Ice (floro) to give it a shot this season

6 pound here

I use 4 lb Berkley Vanish or 6 lb Seaguar on my jigging rods. Has anyone used / have an opinion on nano fill?
-
6lb Suffix ice braid.
-
10 lbs braid with 6lbs sufix floro. leader
-
8lbs fireline micro ice with an 8lbs flouro leader is what i use on this same combo x2 I've tried almost everything and nothing gives me piece of mind for the possibility of the fish of a lifetime like fireline.

4 lb seaguar has treated me well.
