Anyone know what the ice conditions are after this warm spell from Crown Point to Basin Harbor? Looking to get over there tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

Fished tri town and potash the past two days. Plenty of ice, edges are getting pretty beat up I’d be careful going on with a machine depending on where you are. Stepped to the bottom at tri town coming off but was only 8” of water. Friend of mine was north of basin harbor yesterday. He said the ice was fine. About 16+ everywhere I’ve been out that way. Good luck

Careful crossing pressure ridges.
There's a series of ridges from Arnold's Bay. Folks couldn't cross the second ridge on an ATV Monday. They picked their way across on foot.
The prior week, I had those ridges shift about 3 feet and make some nerve-racking crossings. Not fun when there isn't a soul in sight.
And, there's at least one in Button Bay that starts at Button Island and runs southeast to shore. I did see ATVs up there Monday.

There is also one coming from tri town that goes all the way across the lake that I would not attempt to cross

Thanks everyone!

Heading up to tri town Saturday morning was wondering if anyone knows what the conditions on tge lake how much snow if any any info is greatly appreciated thanks
-
At the bridge now. Anywhere from 1-4” of snow its a lil drifted. it’s softening up quick in the sun. Should stiffen up over night. Some holes I’ve drilled have 7” of ice and some 16” so just be cautious. Good luck

Anyone know the conditions at tri town? Looking for one more trip end of week, any info much appreciated.

The ice is good. Getting on was a lil rough but doable. Few guys out fishing on either side of the crack from the point out I just stayed in the bay. All the snow is gone dragging was great. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Thanks EyE, we'll give it a shot before the storm.

Whomever is putting stakes in the ice to mark their spot out that way can stop. Did verify with the epo that they are not fond of that practice either...
-
I haven't seen any stakes out there, where abouts are they?
-
Often this time of year people that drill holes for pike will mark them as they get large as the days get warmer and can be a hazard if walking and you step into one.

You'd know exactly what I am talking about if you saw them. Near potash. Wasnt marking holes at all these were frozen in...
-
and the problem is??? What is epo ? ? ?
-
I’ve seen these stakes/markers. Very dangerous if you’re on a sled or 4-wheeler. When I saw them, there was snow drifted up on the stakes that were in an “X” shape in about 6-8 Holes marking off a territory/spot. Only a small portion of the stakes were visible. The stakes were 2-3’ tall frozen in the ice. There was actually a tip-up left behind still baited. I understand if someone had to leave in a hurry, but I saw the stakes for weeks afterwards. Not quite 2x4’s but close.

That'd be great. Should blow to shore so I dont hit them in the boat.
