Invasive fish and what to do
« on: Jan 17, 2018, 11:03 AM »
My question here is, when catching white perch or other invasive species, do you throw them back? I throw them back, my buddy insist that we have to kill them. I would like to know the proper way to handle them.

There are no rules or laws that say you have to kill them.  There are rules that say you cannot transport them alive nor can you just throw 'em on the bank to die.

The call is yours.  If you can use them, go ahead, keep them, they are not bad on the table.  Take all you want.  Just know that no matter how many you harvest, you will not even be able to a dent in the population.

Thank you for your quick reply and clarification to the laws.
