Geez, beautiful, thick fish!  She going on the wall?

Yes she is. I let a few high teenagers go in the past in hopes of icing a giant. Now the next one will have to be high twenties. For the trophy room.

Awesome.  How long was the fight?
All together the totall fight lasted about 5-8 minutes. She gave me five good runs at the hole. Could not get her head turned. But just played her out and she tired some and Smeltecca through the gaff into her bottom jaw.
I honestly did not think she was that big when fighting her. I figured it was a high teen fish. But the results were not that.

It has taken a lot of time and homework and some luck to get one this size to finally bite. Thanks

You guys are making me feel better about keeping it. I do not like keeping fish. Especially ones that take forever to get that size.

After what happend to my camera i would have kept her to. She is Probably over 20 years old i dont know if people realize that.A tiger that size could be 1/3 as old.

Ya! JC I talked to a friend from up Lake Ontario who is a retired fisheries biologist. He said that this fish is somewhere between 25-30 years old. He would have to get a scale off her to determine exact age. He always preaches to me to keep them little guys and release the big ones. The big ones are your mature females and they are the ones that keep the lakes going strong. He tells me to keep the little ones because if you do not then you will have over population and the size will decline and so will the age of the fish. Selective harvest. There is a bunch of factors that go into it. I could go on and on about it. It does not effect tigers much because they grow much fast. The average life span for a tiger is 7-13 years.
