Freedom turnback shad?
« on: Jan 28, 2018, 05:53 AM »
Just ordered 4 turnback shads to see how they work. I am sick of paying $6 for a jiggin rap and have the tails break off after a few fish. I like tying my rapalas vertical which isn’t an option on the turnback shads. Has anyone fished with them? Same better or worse results than the jiggin rap?

what kind of fish are you catching that you're breaking the tails off a jigging rapala?

and what exactly do you mean by "tying my rapalas vertical"? i've never heard of anything like that

Was thinking the same thing about tying them vertical, would be neat to see
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to ice fish, have his wife mad for ever.

White bass and walleye do a number on rapalas and the tails break off. Yesterday I caught 20 bass and a pile of walleye and broke 2 rapalas.

If u tie directly without a quick clip you can move your knot to the back of the loop and it will hang almost vertical in the water. Gives a rapala a different look and action.
