You stop drinking at night to improve you rod tip reflexes in the AM.

You think that walking a mile through six inches of slush to see three flags pop for the whole day was "Totally Worth It!"

clearing auger holes with bare hands seems a normal affair.

you spend three hours figuring out the weekly weather and how best to sneak in a trip during a storm.

When you get up at 430 to be on the ice for the am feed but getting to work for 7 is a real chore

the bait shop knows when payday is and knows you will be there even before you do.

You keep an auger and jigging rod in your car at all times just in case you pass by a nice looking pond and have a few spare minutes.

Your girlfriend/wife stops asking when you'll be fishing and starts asking when she'll see you again.

You don't think twice about, and don't regret, sticking your arm all the way down a hole trying to grab the big one that got off.

***you bring fish to work after a long night jigging to thaw them out so you can filet them on your lunch break (truth)
***you make random runs to the closest brook to change water in your bait bucket frantically so you can keep your bait alive
***the only laundry you care about is fishing attire
***your wife says "what are you doing here?"
***your spud bar is your fire pit poker
***it takes you an hour and a half to get to work (even though it's 6 minutes away) to check out every inch of water on the way and your excuse is traffic......again for 3 months

You refer to a stop at Alton Bay as "on the way" between Portsmouth and Concord.

You can time your departure from the lake to arrive either just ahead or just behind the school bus your kids are on.

Your (not amused) wife presents you with a dryer trap full of sawdust and dried wax worms.

You store your cusk bait in the snow back next to your truck for easy access.
