Today's Red Report
« on: Mar 15, 2005, 07:01 PM »
It was a beautiful sunny and warm day.
Started fishing at Breezy Point at 8:22am at 8 feet....then 12 feet....then 16 feet.....bingo! Walleye hits right away. Good action for awhile. Made more holes and found the ledge......23 feet......fish were at 9-20 feet today.
Went to Selkirk for lunch and tried near St Peters Church area......DEEP......25 feet. First hole sent down a 1/4 oz propeller jig with salty.....waited to reach bottom.......COULDN'T FEEL BOTTOM ???????.......pulled up a little line then....WHAM....almost pulled the rod outa my hands......heart skipped a beat ........then line went slack..... :'( :'( :'(
Pulled up to check the damage.......both the small bead holding prop and prop blade pulled all the way to the point of the hook  :woot:
Clouds started piling up and heard on radio that Neepawa was getting heavy snow already......pulled up stakes at 4:30pm.....1 shy of limit  :)
Ate almost all my perch.....it's off to Delta on the weekend
B I

Excellent report BI... good to hear that things are picking up on the Red. Thinking of trying it next week.

Good Luck wth the perchin... if the weather co-operates I will be heading to Delta on Thursday,  I have commited to taking a buddy and his grandson out. Should be a blast the little guy has never caught a fish. I will report how it goes...

blue igloo getting bluer?
The Blue Igloo will get a fresh coat of paint this summer........but it will still be Blue :D
On the other hand, Blue Igloo's owner will surely be blue during the time when icefishing ends and before golf starts
Blue Igloo's four seasons:  Spring Vacations
                                           Summer Golf
                                           Fall Hunting
                                           Winter Icefishing
It's the wait between each season that gets me blue  :(

Yes BW, I've been known to wet a line.....usually from the opener until golf fever takes over  ;D
Hopefully TH takes me out shore fishing ....hint.....hint.... ;)2
The only pond fishing I do after that is for my  :%$#!: golf balls
My Yamaha golf cart didn't come with an outboard motor ........that was optional :roflmao:
