Title: Like The Energizer Bunny
Post by: Drifter_016 on Apr 17, 2017, 06:58 PM
Winter keeps going and going...............

Well it looks like we are going to be able to drive out on the lake for another few weeks after checking out the lake and the long range forecast. Last year @ this time the temps were +6C every day. This morning it was -22C with a stiff North wind bringing the windchill into the mid -30's!!!! It's not going to get above freezing for another week.

Enjoy it while it lasts Drifter . Do you have any plans for another trip to your cabin provided the ice roads stay open.

Might make a trip up next weekend with some doors and cabinets.
May as well if the road's still good, which it should be.
It's not supposed to get above freezing until next Tuesday.
May get in a trip the following weekend if needed too.

That's a beautiful site, I wish we still had ice down here but unfortunately it was all gone in the beginning of March.  Some day I'll make the trip up your way.

That is hard to fathom. It must be like living on Pluto. I love ice fishing but that would be intolerable for me because I enjoy all 4 seasons down here.

We have all four seasons here. Spring is 9 1/2 minutes long, Summer is 3 1/2 months long, Fall is 4 days long and the rest is winter!!!!  ^_^

Good reply Drifter. :roflmao: . I don't remember if you are far enough North that you experience a period of near 24 hour sun light and also near 24 hours of  darkness during the year.

Need to be above the Arctic circle for 24hrs of light/dark.
We are about 250 miles South of it.  ;)

There's a bit of water on the ice in places but it's still really good.

Thank you for the reply and explanation to my question Drifter. If I remember correctly the current windows in your cabin will all be replaced what are the plans for those windows.

Actually the windows that are in it now are the new ones.
One was built incorrectly and the cross bar is an inch higher than the other 3.
Needed to document the issue so the manufacturer can build a correct replacement.

You can see it in this pic.
2nd window from the left is the bad one.

Looks to be the window at the end of the path between the stacked lumber and the light brown couch but, most likely me monitor.    No chance of parallax?  Ha.
Never mind ~ the best are the great photos, Dave.      ;)2

Could be either one. They are both different than the outside ones.

From the bottom of the windows to the top of the cross bars they measure 48.5", 49", 48", 48.5".
Going to get the left middle redone so they will be 48.5", 48", 48", 48.5".
That I can live with.

may you get the window problem fixed, I recently ran into the same problem with screen panels made for a balcony. Contractor sent bad panel back and received replacement everything lines up correctly now a minor problem but glad he fixed it. Did you use your sled behind snow mobile to get couch out to the cabin?

Yep, the couches came out last winter.
They're my old ones from the house and will eventually be changed to something better once the interior is further along.
