Eskimo Ice auger
« on: Mar 04, 2021, 12:10 PM »
I bought an Eskimo stingray auger from a buddy  thats 11/2 years old and used a handfull  of times.. the motor starts and runs like a top but when the auger spins it sounds like the gears are grinding or something in the gear box. Is this common with these augers? Should I be concerened?

should be no grinding with anything with gears and bearings.

Maybe your buddy is like this guy.  That would make some grinding gears.

Lol, reminds me of cuzn Alfy when my 3 horse stuck on glare ice and he didn't have ice cleats on. But should be no noise coming from the gear box.

Yes, thats what I thought. I had a jiffy years ago and had no problems. Just thought maybe someone had an Eskimo and had same problem.
