I hope this warm weather doesn't get rid of all the ice.

I agree. I'm thinking it is not going to be good for the ice here in western NY. I have 48 degrees here right now. The weatherman is calling for heavy winds and rain today. I've got my fingers crossed that the ice on Silver holds up.

It looks like it will be getting into the 20s and teens at night still, so that should somewhat mitigate the 40-degree daytime highs forecast for this week. Hopefully, after Jan. 1, we'll see some subzero weather.

To be honest with you I would like to see all the ice/slush that is out on Oneida Lake and other bodies of water get blown right off and start with a fresh ice cap with no snow or slush mixed in, it will make for safer ice and it will hold better at late ice.

I honestly don't think this warm spell is going to kill the ice, It might for a day or two but I really think that its going to make the ice better a week or so from now as long as we get some really cold overnite temps..

i agree with cny lee. would be nice to melt of the slush on top and start making good ice again. easier on the walking also.

It is killing us down here. It is suppose to be above freezing all week too!

Big moves to find'em, small moves to catch'em!
